This broke during the game:

I'm also gonna get drunk and demand to appear on Baseball Night in NY.

https://nypost.com/2019/05/31/mets-analyst-nelson-figueroa-fired-from-sny/Nelson Figueroa fired from his SNY desk job, sez the Post.

"Figueroa was let go Friday morning after he showed up Thursday in what was described by sources as a state not fit to work. Figueroa allegedly demanded to still appear on SNY's evening program, 'Baseball Night in New York,' but was not permitted to appear."

That's a shame. Enjoyed his in studio work. Hopefully he gets some help.

I've grown to like him as well, always well spoken and ultra-prepared.

Kinda surprised, but I guess ya never know.

Leary would be good in that SNY strains to pun-brand every other segment a la DUQ IT OUT. "I'M LEARY OF THIS" definitely fits their standards. Perhaps "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hello,_LarryHELLO, LEARY," depending on how old they're targeting their demos.

I got Derek Wallace. Hmm...

"With the Mets giving away another game, Derek, is it CHRISTMASTIME IN WALLACE, QUEENS?"

I think I saw Cliff doing color for another team the other day but can't

remember which one?

I think he's with the MLB network, so if he got more steady work with one organization, I think he'd be willing to jump. Curt Gowdy, Jr. don't play.

According to his wiki-page he's also a feature analyst for the Blue Jays. I knew

I saw him on one of Extra Innings games recently just couldn't recall the team.

Like him, he's good on his MLB Channel stuff.

Back to Figgy, I think I've seen him on MLB too. Wonder if that gig dries up as well.

Raissman wrote Figueroa was a ticking timebomb, thanks to SNY repeatedly ignoring him, or something like that.

I was kinda wondering why we were seeing less and less of him on SNY. That he seemed to get even less airtime than usual after Darling's illness was announced probably indicates that this was a long time coming, for whatever reason.

That's pretty much what Raissman's thesis is. That he had a sword dangling over him and he eventually went nuts. Understandably to Raissman's apparent thinking. But I've had a sword hanging over me most of my life and I have all my breakdowns in private, thank you very much.

Still, Raissman, whose specialty seems to be getting inside info on dramatic employment situations, seems to only have a single source and half of the story he's hoping for, filling in the rest with speculation.

I know he's trying to stir up shit, and maybe there's shit here that needs to be stirred, but his summation of Todd Zeile's performance seems to be baseless, and crafted to fit his thesis.

Does Raissman still have a gig on SNY? He did for a long time.

I guess either way he would have a decent source at the network.

With the Snooze having decimated its sports department, SNY stopped airing "Daily News Live," and no longer offer its remaining staffers/freelancers a ready camera, though a handful of ex-Snoozers have found a home as SNY analysts.

Which is to say Raissman is no longer on SNY.
