Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Bases loaded for Davis....
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 I'd have been tempted to send Nido home there.Temptation is dangerous.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Well now this is starting to get interesting. Now all we have to do is rake the shit out of Kenley
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Oh, hell, 3rd out at 3rd base
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Outs on the bases plus a shitty bullpen
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Conforto left holding his stick so to speak
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 That's twice tonight a Met got tagged out advancing when he arrived before the tag, but had his limb in the airspace over the bag, rather than touching it.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Hey, Dom Smith in the outfield!! They can't fail now!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Four perfect throws -- two by Bellinger plus the two-person relay from LF -- have really screwed up this game. And maybe only Gomez's try for 3rd was a 'bad send', and even then one could argue that the throw from Bellinger, possibly allowing the tying run to get to 2nd, was the even worse idea. Then toss in a GiDP by Lagares and we've made LAD pitchers retire just 20 batters to get through 8 innings.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 ANNNNND, it was the fear of Bellinger's arm which kept Nido on 3rd on Rosario's hit in the prior AB.Even with slow runners, it's rare to see a runner NOT score from 2nd when the corner OF has to move sideways to field the hit.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Yup. Bellinger is winning the game by both his actions and his mere presence. As the score hit 9-5, the organ player broke out into a rendition of "9-to-5."
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Well, Alonso didn't get throw out at 3rd so, y'know, there's that.Taylor pulled a 'Steve Finley' on that one; he stubbed his shoulders trying to jump.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Frazier is in the bucket against Jansen.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Well let's get back to.500 tomorrow
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Turned it off at 6-3, saw a bit later that it was 8-3 and didn't look back. Nice that they made it interesting but that's not going to do it for me, not with 10:10 first pitches for the next week+.
