G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 I feel like this streak is worthy of a thread split. Yeoman's work my friend. Can you clarify the streak? Obviously, attending in person and watching on TV count. How about listening by radio? Checking Gamecast at work? Checking the score by phone? At the game; watching on TV; and/or listening on radio. I guess a live, ongoing accounting via Gamecast would be legit in this day and age, but it never came down to that as my only option during the period in question.Getting the score intermittently via a third-party source, as in "Mets 3 Nats 2 T-5" flashing on my phone, wouldn't be enough, though it would also be better than nothing. I'd liken that kind of update to calls to Sportsphone when I was in college or peering at the ESPN crawl from the edge of an airport bar while waiting to board a flight, and though that sort of grasping for in-progress details is an inevitable part of the fan experience, I never thought of those instances as consuming the game live. Basically, if I could say "I caught at least part of the game," it counted (usually it was most or all of the game). On May 6, 2019, I couldn't say it.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 That's a pretty amazing streak. There have already been two games this year where I was caught up in something and realized that I had missed the game. Checked the score after and saw they lost both.
