I walk a lot. I get hit a lot. I strike out a lot a lot. Sometimes I even put the ball in play. I smile a lot.

What I've been doing a lot of recently is taking what I say is ball four, and running halfway to first before the ump is all, "Slow down, Son. That was a strike."

That's no way to make a living. Plus, my hand feels really crappy right now.

I'm Brandon Nimmo, the Mets breakthrough star of 2018. But man, 2019 has been a big turd of a season for me so far. Right now, I'm 2-20 (.100 / .280 / .100 // .380) and that's not getting it done. I've struck out in 13 of those trips to the plate, so I'm not even feeling the pride of putting the ball in play.

The pitchers are wasting fewer pitches and the umps are giving a bit of a squeeze to the zone. I'll adjust. That's what got me outa Wyoming or wherever I'm from. Adjusting.

In the meantime, I stink like yesterday's fish. But that can't last forever. Something's gotta give. But what something ... and when?

He'll be fine long term. But he should be sitting against Corbin today. (And McNeil should be playing third, while we're at it.)

It looks like the pitchers have made adjustments to him or found his weakness (a thrown baseball).

I think he needs a three week mental health trip to AAA to readjust.

When he gets back, he'll be ok, but not as good as last year.

Despite seeing something like 40% of the playing time the regulars have seen this year, Brandon Nimmo is now sixth on the team in walks, having already passed two teammates since his activation from the IL. Moreover, it's not unthinkable that with regular PT, he could climb as high as third by the time the season ends.
