Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2019 Author Posted March 27, 2019 In a rare opening day eve deal, the Blue Jays trade DH/1B Kendrys Morales to Oakland for a couple of young'uns.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 That's not really a good pantone color match with Phanatic green, though, is it?It seems more like Céspedes canary sleeve green.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2019 Author Posted March 28, 2019 Yanx win their opener vs Baltimore, 7-2Not sure when the pin-stripers are scheduled to play their first Major League game.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 3-1 Phils. 5thJimmy Rollins is yakin' and he didn't say anything about the Phils being better than the Mets.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2019 Author Posted March 30, 2019 Harper got his phirst Philly HR (and curtain call) on Saturday. A solo shot in the 7th which upped the Phils' lead to 3-runsThe phightin's have taken the first two from the rather sloppy-looking Braves
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 And the Phanatic wore sneakers with Bryce Harper's image. Credit where due. It was a cute idea. I'm in the phase where I miss baseball enough to load up on MLB.tv. I watched bits and pieces of the Braves-Phils and rooted for them both to lose. Didn't happen. In the AL Central, the odds-on favorite Tribe has scored two runs in 18 innings, one on a Hanley Ramirez home run and the other on a single, two wild pitches, and a sac fly. Corey Kluber may become this year's Jacob DeGrom.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Author Posted March 31, 2019 Yanx wind up losing two straight to the Orioles after their opening day win. And you know they're counting on going at least 15-4 vs Bal'mer this season or something like that. That today's game took them over 7 hours between rain delays and a really slow game only makes today's loss better, as does Tulowitski K'ing to end the game with the tying runs on.Of course it helps them that the other supposed powerhouses in the AL didn't have good weekends either:- Houston went 1-3 (vs TBR); Boston also starts 1-3 (SEA); and Cleveland 1-2 (Twins)
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2019 Author Posted March 31, 2019 At least one report is billing him as baseball first "21st Century player", which he actually isn't but Blue Jays reliever Elvis Luciano made his ML debut on Sunday which bears noting because he was bornon February 15th of 2000, the first player NOT to be born in either the 18__'s or 19__'s and reach the major leagues. The first true 21st century player will be born in 2001 or later but we could be within a year of seeing that at this point.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 Ichiro Suzuki was born in the 22nd century. I'm not sure how that can be true, but it nonetheless is.

I think I heard (its CT, tv, they give us a lot of Sawks news, but I don't pay much attention) that they set a record by each giving up three home runs in three consecutive games. I didn't care enough to check it out, though. Later
