RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 I still am amused at the doom-and-gloom contingent who said that the team had to avoid arbitration or else DeGrom would be unhappy and not sign a long-term contract.This is the obvious way to prevent it: offer him a massive raise. He goes away happy and has a positive attitude toward the way the team treated him.

And I was going to say earlier that I like their fish sammies. My mom complains every single time we go there because her chicken sandwich basically disintegrates so I think I finally have her convinced to get something else.Carry on with Mets stuff!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 It's at least somewhat disappointing to think these arbitration salaries undermine the chance at multi-year extensions being established before free agency.And it's at least somewhat surprising that Wheeler earns a salary 99.58% of what Syndergaard is getting. But service time factors a lot in arbitration-period salaries, and Wheeler's two years in DL Land factor into his service time.
