bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 The Irishman, Netflix, Scorsese (fantastic) has the main character watching a Phillies game and you can see Gregg Jefferies. A Twitter sleuth figured out the game and it was against the Mets from September 22, 1996.

RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Greg did mention it, but he missed a notable point. In The Kominsky Method, Michael Douglas claims that he was sitting in the bleachers when the Mets won the 1969 World Series.I trust everyone here knows what's wrong with that statement.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 Maybe he was sitting in bleachers at some location other than Shea Stadium.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 I'm pretty sure that the Mets added seating in OF (well, not in the OF but beyond the fence) so there were "bleachers". Plus, they are old guys so maybe they called "cheap seats" "bleachers". I heard it (great show) and let it pass.

I've heard the left field upper deck stands at Ebbets Field referred to as "the bleachers".And thank you Greg, for that great article.Later
