Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 The Reds return to Citi Field following a Braves series that saw the dis-spiriting reality of the team taking a modest step forward in their quality of play, only to still lose three of four.Mets bring Noah Syndergaard to the mound. Reds counter with Homer Bailey who, despite being among baseball's biggest albatross contracts the last four years, but has been pitching reasonably well of late. The big question as these two bottom feeders clash for dominance of the bottom: Will there be a Matt Harvey scoreboard video tribute?SvkWUsv9mz8
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 Syndergoo opposes Homer Bailey, who's been dreadful.Actually Bailey sucked ass and they tried the Trachsel Cure on him, and he's been OK since.Reds are playing better lately although they suck like us overall

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 There's already "controversy" that Hovvey has set up a press conference at the same time as Mick's, despite the Mets having asked him not to.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 6, 2018 Author Posted August 6, 2018 Matt Harvey and the Mets press office. It's just like old times.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 He'll probably be late, and tripping his balls off.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 I'm sure the press conference will be all about Qualcomm.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 How's the pee coming along, Matt?Do you find the cocaine in the Queen City as robust as the varieties more common to the Meatpacking district of Manhattan? How do they compare? You like staying up all night in clubs then banging Ford Modeling agency chicks afterward. Is Cincinnati's 10 pm downtown shutdown and Miss Pork Board candidates a match?
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 In a way, it's kinda funny Harvey ended up in Cincinnati because he turned down in assignment to _Las Vegas_
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 6, 2018 Author Posted August 6, 2018 Is the ice hockey better on the Ohio side of the river or the Kentucky side?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 An Eddie K appearance! He looks and sounds great.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Before this (4th) inning started, I was starting to wonder whether this was going to be one of those games where we score early and then spend the next 8 frames trying to stave off challenges to that lead. But now 5-Zip smells a lot better than 3-Zip
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 Yeah, I thought they scrod themselves royally the previous inning when they got the first two on, 3-0 on Frazier, then he inexplicably swung at ball four. And even though he recovered to hit a long double sacrifice fly, the team came away with no runs.So here's to the tack-on runs. Key play was Rosario easily beating out a ball that would've been a double play for everybody else in the league except him and Billy Hamilton. Certainly every other righthanded hitter.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 Frazier almost killing our secondbaseman.Any time he wants to come off the DL in his head would be welcome.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 I think McNeil just hit one, like ... Duda length.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 McNeil's legend continues to grow.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 A reliable lefthanded reliever would be nice in this situation.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Just saw the video of McNeil's blast. Wow -- to the back of the upper deck! Why did we wait so long to promote this guy?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 Really a helluva situation to put Wahl in.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Bases loaded, the heart of the order, breaking pitches not coming close -- I give Wahl some credit for getting an out.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Not that the bloop is the reason, but I'm not quite sure why Mickey saw the need for the Wahl/Gsellman switch. In all, it was just disappointing to only get 6-1/3 of of Syndy tonight.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 7, 2018 Author Posted August 7, 2018 A Dilson Herrera sighting![fimg=600:rbf7c09d]https://metsmlb.files.wordpress.com/2015/06/img_6835.jpg[/fimg:rbf7c09d]
