Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 One of our semi-final Yearbook Cover Derby polls is stuck in a tie, with only 12 votes. In previous polling threads we've consistently seem more than 12 voters, so if you haven't voted yet it's vital that you do so! Do your duty, Judy!Yearbook Cover Derby Semifinal Round 5.01 1968 vs 1970
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2018 Author Posted June 13, 2018 I see that I successfully nudged a 6-6 tie into a 7-7 tie. Hopefully there are still some votes out there. Some of our previous polls had as many as 21 votes.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Those bots, from Sweden, they're messin' with the whole thing.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2018 Author Posted June 14, 2018 Since this thread was posted, I've noticed that 1968 took leads of 7-6 and 8-7, but 1970 later pulled ahead 9-8, but now we're once again tied, with 18 votes having been submitted. Anyone more voters out there? According to Baseball Prospectus, the odds of an eventual need for a tie-breaker are steadily increasing!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 For a tiebreaker, do we vote on the title page?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2018 Author Posted June 14, 2018 There would be a thing called a "weighted tiebreaker". It's been a possibility since the first TCD in 2015 but has never had to be invoked. Maybe its time has come.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2018 Author Posted June 14, 2018 Or maybe not! I just checked again, and 1968 is ahead 10 to 9.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2018 Author Posted June 14, 2018 The 1968 vs. 1970 poll now has 22 votes, a new high for this competition! Thanks to everyone who jumped in and voted. The downside of this, is that its sister poll is feeling unloved, with only 11 votes. Nobody loves the lopsided!Yearbook Cover Derby Semifinal Round 5.02 1966 vs 1967
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I've now voted in both. Surprised to see how lopsided that second one is.
