Six outs to get with a two-run lead.
We got this, right? Right?

One would hope so.

There is the first out. Quickly followed by a home run. Down to a 1 run lead now.

Insurance would be nice. Some launch-angle magic in the ninth, please?

The Mets need to get some insurance runs. The way things have been going for the Mets of late, I don't feel too comfortable turning a 1 run lead over to Familia right now.

Sherlock playing it safe. Putting on Asdrubel to drive in the insurance run.

Cabrera swung at ball four at least twice.

And theeeeere goes the insurance. C'mon, Sherlock.

The Reds get out of the inning unscathed with an assist from Mets conservative base running (coaching).

Good for you, Cés. Let's pinch-run.

Wait, Reyes? This should be Lagares.

I was surprised that Lagares (or Nimmo) wasn't sent in to run for Cespedes.

One more out to go!

Can't recall the last time I saw Familia throw a fastball with any ability to put it where the target is. He's got so much movement on the ball he can still conjure up the swings & misses, but the heater is always shaky to me.

Whew!
I thought YS III was a bandbox.
But the balls fly out of this place like its a little league field.
With Vargas pitching tomorrow, I hope our guys have something left in the tank.

- Reyes had to freeze momentarily on the liner to RF. He scores easily otherwise and probably would have anyway, but with no outs and the middle of the order coming up ...

- but Cabrera and Frazier combined to kill a whole bunch of rallies tonight.

- I guess the idea of running Reyes in the first place rather than Nimmo/Lagares was that, if you were going to PH later in that inning, at this point Reyes would be your last choice from among those three.

- Good on the scorer for awarding the win to Gsellman [2.2 IP, 1 R, 1 H] rather than Sewald [1.2 IP, 2 R, 3 H]. Lots of times the scorer lazily goes to the next pitcher in those situations when the starter fails
to go the required five

- a rare high-scoring yet sub-3 hour game (2:47) but then most of the runs on both sides were scored very quickly.

Well, it's obviously a lot more fun to vote on the games when we're winning them.
