Honestly, though, dude should *not* have chosen baseball as a career with a name like that.

So the Mets drafted Gamecock teammates 3+4. Similarly, Ed Lynch and Mookie Wilson were also college teammates at South Carolina

10th ranked C in the draft but the best fielder:

That's our 6th pick, Nick Meyer, catcher of San Luis Obispo and then we got Kevin Smith, a LHP out of the U of Georgia. Curious if we target Jay this round to compliment Silent Bob.

Mets draft 6'7" 230 lb monster righty Tylor Megill out of the U of Arizona. Here he is throwing baseballs to the soundtrack of sugary pop music.

Holy shit, you were not kidding. Born with 2 left thumbs (the "extra" one was hacked off when he was a kid) and he looks like the product of a mens room romance between Rollie Fingers and the Reds mascot.

And a little love for 7th pick Kevin Smith. Another big human being (6'5", 200 pounds) he was apparently the Georgia opening day starter, got his tits lit, was eventually moved to the pen and became a lights out closer. If he were right handed, I'd want to trade Jay Bruce for him.

The 8th pick is another big guy: 6'7", 230: Tylor Megill
The 9th round pitcher is even larger: 6'7", 265: Bryce Montes de Oca (has been drafted twice but stayed in school).

Yeah, Mets are drafting a team that should immediately compete to win Royal Rumble. MLB vid on this kid sez he brings it at a hundred.

Sounds like a good baller with some pop in his bat. ---> http://www.newsrecord.org/sports/manny-being-manny-rodriguez-s-consistency-guiding-uc-baseball/article_a3ebb97e-42a2-11e8-a411-d3e510c04fe8.html

But how is his aerial move set? Our Rumble team is almost set, and he's SOL if he isn't bringing some lucha that's pretty f'ing libre.

That's actually kind of a neat factoid.

More soldiers for the rumble.

Round 13: Christian Tripp, 6'7", 220, fourth-year junior.

Round 20: Saul Gonzalez, 6'7", 235, high school senior.

I'm thinking I could use a Christian tripp, to Assisi or somewhere.

I'm gonna adopt this slacker.

Flying the homeboy flag is 15th rounder and Wagner College Seahawk catcher Phil Capra.

Out of North Salem New York, with a classic New York face, Phil hopes his nascent career as a professional baseballer doesn't interfere with the filming of his starring role in The Buddy Hackett Story.

Wow, what a mug. Phil's name caught my attention, too. When Rob Morrow, who played Dr. Joel Fleischman, split from my all-time fav TV show "Northern Exposure" after season 5, the producers didn't know what to do and installed another big city doctor to replace him - Phil Capra - a kinda crappy character played ably by Paul Provenza.

Not our Phil Capra:

Holy crap. The elderly guy in that photo is our neighbor, and the grandfather of one of Lunchpail's best friends. He's in his 80s and still runs the NYC marathon every year. Used to train by carting his grandkids around in a rickshaw!
