Lobaton takes advantage of a MASSIVE second-hand hole... and then looks understandably confused when it's time to salt and pepper. I mean, on base is a weird place to be for the guy, no?

Not following the third baseman in on the squeeze, then camping on third on the grounder. What the hell is Lagares doing/being told to do on third?

I send Lagares on contact. He'd probably be out there, but he'd force a throw and tag (and look at Asuaje throwing under pressure).

If he's out. Lóbaton displaces him on first.

On the other hand, as LWFS notes above, Lagares should have tried to score on the bunt, too. Come on, Sherlock.

I was on my way here to complain about how it seemed like we were losing by a little more every batter.

Take that, Stammen, you fuckface

I'm totally fine with him holding in that grounder.

The bunt he should have scored. But is that his fault? He doesn't have eyes in the back of his head, doesn't the 3b coach need to yell something to indicate there is nobody covering 3rd so he can trail Villanueva down the line?

Only just noticed when SNY popped on the sad-departed-starter cam, but Clayton Richard is kind of a beautiful-looking dude, ain't he? Like, model-pretty.

Speaking of which... With the way HE's looking, and the insur-runs, we're riding Dutch Boy all the way home here, aren't we?

He looks like an overgrown little leaguer with that hat and No. 3.

I'd be shocked if he's not a Met someday as Fred and Jeff love their Wolverines

Vargas tomorrow will make his first Mets start since 2007. I wonder if any other Mets starting pitcher went 11 years between starts for them.

David Cone.

I like this color scheme too, muy Padre-esque.

Harvey being Harvey

If the Mets need to go to another pitcher to bail his ass out of a 5-0 game I would offer him AAA or his release

Good to see Clint Howard getting work playing a ballplayer.

That ball-four breaking pitch was Rick-Ankiel-in-the-midst-of-his-breakdown bad.

It ain't about being dumb. He's losing a part of himself here.

Even the strikes are missing the target by a foot.

I hoping for a lot of blowout Mets victories so Harvey can work it out (whatever "it" is) and be productive again in some role.
