Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 I'm a Tom's River hero with a port wine stain on my temple and Yankee taint on the rest of me. I'm walking, talking proof that the Mets are willing let go of David Wright daydreams and sign a dude to be the dude who plays third. I'm a low-average/big-power/meh-OBP guy that's pretty much the living embodiment of the era. Of course I came from Cincinnati. It's the law—journeyman hitters start out as Reds or maybe Pirates, journeyman pitchers start out as Dodgers. Something stupid like that.I'm here now. First year of a two-year deal. Good defense, allegedly good teammate, already know my way around New York. What's the deal in 2018 for me? Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 I was never big on this guy but can see the reasons they did it. I sometimes wish they were more creative. You can't really dream on Frazier (or Bruce, or Cabrera, or Gonzalez) to be anything more than what they were; only less is imaginable. This guy is not going to suddenly hit 320 and cut down on the whiffs. You are right he's the perfect model of today's ideal ballplayerFans will call for Wright and Phillip Evans at different times during the year. There will be a movement to go trade for whoever's playing 3rd base for the team in last place in the AL Central before long. Frazier will outlast this and hit: 221/321/421
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 Raises the Apple a bunch of times. Best quote in the clubhouse. Proudly takes Granderson's mantle of all-around good guy. Signs every autograph. Probably not an All-Star any more, but we don't regret this one.

The Mets def have a bunch of Major Leaguers that should be able to win a game on any given night and should rarely be embarrassing. Very known quantities, if a little boring. Frazier, is to the Mets, reliably, safely and comfortably mediocre. I predict his '17 more or less again. .220/.330/.430, something like 25 homers. Eventually learns everyone's names, but still calls people BIG DAWG just because.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 I predict he will have the ugliest swing we have ever seen on a Met.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 I buy his plate discipline adjustments. This guy's gonna have a great Mets season..240/.360/.430 114 wRC+ 33 HR. 15 BB%, 21 K%. 4.2 fWAR9 HBP, 3SB, 2 walk-off hits, one a homer, the other in the playoffs. Real good defense. 8/18 with 4 HR, 2 doubles, and 11 RBI in the Subway Series.

There are folks who strive to dream and have high hopes, to believe, and there are those who deal in the cold facts of reality and strive to be accurate and correct. And both make great Mets fans!
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 He'll hit .220/25/62.With the Mets, shooting for the moon frequently results in an inability to escape the earth's gravitational pull, culminating in a painful, fiery reentry into the atmosphere before a disastrous explosion.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 Not feeling a lot of expectations for Frazier. Two years? Really. If I may, kinda feeling some meh...
