Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Two years, $16.5 million. It’s stupid we couldn’t sign him for that.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Like I said in the arbitration post, trading for Ramos at the deadline looks very bad right now.I think Reed would have improved the Mets more than Bruce does, unless the Conforto injury is worse than it looks. But I'll judge the offseason when it is over.
Guest cooby Guests Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 There is this extremely annoying ad on Sirius XM for hair color called Madison Reed and I always think of that when his name is mentioned
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 I get that once he's tasted being a closer, he doesn't want to go back to a team that already has two of them.

There was also an argument that taking Ramos off the market made Reed more valuable, who knows but we got 3 prospects for him.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 New insights on the Addison Reed signing ---> here. It would seem very likely we were never in consideration to begin with. Good luck to him in Minny-hoo-ha.As it turned out, a proven commodity in his prime with 125 career saves narrowed his market significantly at the start of the free-agent process. His reasons had more to do with family and geography, which ultimately played right into the Twins’ hands....Reed’s wife is from Akron, Ohio, so the well-traveled right-hander from San Diego State gave veteran agent Adam Katz a short list of teams that would interest him....Reed reportedly had at least one three-year offer elsewhere, but at 29 he was eager to get back to the Midwest, where he started his career with the Chicago White Sox from 2011-13.
