I bet Nate Lavender will be the next reliever to get the call.

I liked him in 2022. Outperformed himself and was a nice cog to have. A bit more of a dog in 2023 and I'm not too sad to see him go.

I thought he could be a decent piece of the 'pen and wondered why it took them so long to call him up. Now I understand why.

Since joining the Mets, Carrasco is 19-15 with a 4.71 ERA and 84 ERA+. He inspires little confidence in me.

That's pretty cool. He's 7-5 with a 3.31 ERA and 113 Ks in 89 2/3 innings this year. Very solid numbers. I don't see many big league games live, but I saw him pitch in Cincinnati this year.

What is this deal with them picking up Triple-A pitchers who have been awful in the majors, then soon promoting them to the majors? This guy will be no different. Vinny Nattoli is a good recent example. Prior examples include Yacabonis and Edwin Uceta were other examples.

Took a few more years than it should have. Crazy to think he's spent part or all of SEVEN years with the team! But a guy with his batting ability should not be getting the playing time he does ... he ate up nearly 300 ABs last year.

Hard to win when you have a Triple-A pitching staff, already, and two 'starting' catchers that can't even hit .200. Or barely .100, in Nido's case. The Mets have Michael Perez, Nick Meyer and Hayden Senger in the minors. All of them are awful, but wouldn't be any worse than Nido right now. Time to ditch Tomas for young minor league pitching depth (always needed desperately) and just use one of them.

Gee whiz, a Quadruple-A pitcher with a 5.92 career ERA in the majors like Yacabonis totally imploding. Color me shocked. The Mets' early-season pitcher call ups have been suspect, to say the least.
