I'm not a huge fan of all that advertising either but it is what is. Personally I think the ads on the outside of the stadium are worse. 'What's that building over there? Wait, is it a building or a giant box wrapped in billboards...?' And who cares what Davey Johnson thinks anyway? I love the guy and will always have great memories of him and the '86 Mets but who appointed him arbiter of good taste?

I wasn't really asking specifically. I just wasn't that aware of who was going to be available via FA this off-season. I'm thinking that they are talking about plugging holes more effectively with more established players.

That's all well and good but who exactly are they going to spend money on? They aiming to overspend for Ellsbury? Okay I guess, but what else is going to be out there that they can simply buy? On another note, Bobby Bonilla should be in charge of the Mets finances. The guy is a super genius. He turned $5.9 million into $42 million! He could even teach Hilary Clinton a thing or two about how to make your money grow.

Any time you set up something like this, you have to anticipate that emotions are going to run strong. It boggles my mind that no one would think that the Braves and American Indian Heritage night might be a bad mix. Or that no one would bother to check. It is the type of thing that leads to people being fired, and if the Mets are incompetent enough to let this happen, they should get their just criticism. They also butchered the situation by trying to curtail the festivities, instead of just immediately proposing the alternative dates. This is just a cop out instead of admitting their mistake about scheduling this against the Braves. To be fair, the A.I.C.H. is acting like a bunch of spoiled brats. If the cultural message is that important, it can be delivered in August just as well as July. And I'm sure there are logistics to be worked out, but if they wanted to do it, it could be done. Me and Al Harazin. My whole life I wanted to go to an All-Star game where the Mets were the host. Now that its happening and I'm fortunate enough to be able to go if I wanted to - I have absolutely no desire to do so.

From my dad who is Craig's frequent golfing partner: A pretty remarkable event occurred on the golf course at the Borrego Springs Resort and Spa on March 1st, 2013. A long time resident of our community was playing the complicated and unnerving game of golf with his friends. This man is known by many of us not only here but throughout our nation. He has been the recipient of five World Series rings, yes five, all from different teams he has had occasion to represent either as manager, coach or player. A singularly impressive achievement. He started his career in baseball as a Brooklyn Dodger. This past Friday he received a brand new Taylor Made 4 iron he ordered from John Dickman,the Golf Pro at the resort. At the par 3 177 yard 12th hole he was about to use his 5 wood but was cajoled into using his brand new never used Taylor Made 4 iron. He addressed the ball and with his 83 years of experience stroked the ball and sent it on its way. His three playing friends watched as the ball descended on the green and bounced high as it headed toward the flag. From 177 yards they could see the ball as ut stopped seemingly near the flag. Too bad, almost a hole in one, a great achievement for any golfer. Oh well next time maybe. Upon approaching the green the players noticed the ball was visible right next to the flag. When they got even closer they saw that it was leaning on the flag and when the golfer removed the flag according to the rules of golf, all heard that lovely rattle as it fell into the hole. A fabulous hole in one. The golfer is Roger Craig, the 4iron is Taylor Made and it was used only once. It is now in the process of being mounted as Roger now awaits the delivery of a new Taylor Made 4 iron.
