  1. Ok, maybe 11-2.
  2. I have a lot of faith in Nimmo. Consistently high OBP guys like him who can field help ya even when they ain't hitting.
  3. Man's on deadline, KC.
  4. And not a minute too soon.https://twitter.com/TooGooden17/status/1532738661665611776 Wonder if he still believes his guys will come around.
  5. Lindor, when Indoors, got one of his fin-gors. caught in the crack of one of his room-doors, found himself hin-dorred, from playing out-doors that night, so his team took a beating while he was de hors.
  6. ok, maybe 12-1.
  7. This is a Ralph Houk model lineup. If your SS normally bats third, and he's out, then put your backup SS in the three hole.
  8. What was his BAbip in 2016, I wonder? And I wonder if Buck's just blowing smoke here, or if he believes a 6 y.o. minor league BA is meaningful. I'd have more respect for him if he was just BSing the media here.
  9. I went for all 13. Never give up, never surrender!!

  12. I'll be bitterly disappointed if they don't go on a 13-0 tear.
  13. All Steve, all the time. No Bucks, no Buck Rogers. Or Buck Rodgers. Or Buck Showalter.

I think what we're generally seeing is Guillorme platooning with Canha, with McNeil swinging between the two positions. But McNeil is probably getting extra rest as he recovers from some bumps and bruises. Double-digit division leads can allow you to do that.

  16. =ashie62 post_id=94302 time=1654093071 user_id=90] It is instinctually and probably can only be taught to a lesser degree.
  17. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Castillo is going good enough to almost command a considerable prospect alone. That's kinda what I'm saying. Castillo at this point, in his career and in this season, seems to me worth MUCH more than Dom, and worth more than Dom + picking up a bad contract. At this point, I'd say Dom's irrelevant to such a deal, which would rest much more on a VERY attractive prospect from the Mets. Dom would be a throw in.
  18. Also, not that it matters much, because it does seem Pederson woulda beat it out anyway, but if you freeze at about 6 seconds, it kinda looks like Hoskins' throw doesn't lead Familia but rather slows him down a bit, which doesn't help. Still gotta score that an E-1. Who do you suppose he's shaking his head at , at about 18 seconds. "Man, I screwed the pooch on that one." OR "Will this shit never end?" OR "Way to go, Rhys, throw it behind me and make look bad."
  19. Just an illustration of 1) the Phillies' continued defensive problems 2) Joe Girardi's unhappy mug 3) Wilmer Flores' hustle 4) the need for pitchers to cover first INSTANTLY any time the ball is hit towards the firstbaseman. The announcer blasts Familia for "never" getting over, but if you look at the replay at 39 seconds you'll see that all he does is hesitate for about a fifth of a second before he starts running, which is sufficient to botch the play.

I saw Castillo pitch 6 innings of 1-hit ball in person tonight and I'm the Lunchbucket Bandwagon. Wacha pitched well too, allowing only 1 unearned run in the loss. Well, this just brings up my major issue with the Lunchbucket thesis of "How the World Works": will Cincinnati trade a decent pitcher for Dom Smith? Even with a bad contract tossed in the deal to sweeten it for them? Maybe, but there's no evidence they will. This is like one of those "Let's trade Elio Chacon for Willie Mays!!" proposals--sure, I'm all for it. All you have to do is get the Giants to go for it.
  21. We were told Nimmo would be ready. Any update there?
  22. =ashie62 post_id=94213 time=1654032187 user_id=90] I would dump Dom like a cheap suit. He just can't hit, period.
  23. Still, if they woulda done this a few weeks ago, we coulda kept Cano. Never mind.
  24. He does have value in that he's not really a .190 BA, 0 HR guy, and by playing an excellent 1B he allows Alonso an occasional day off at DH.
  25. Sent down to Syracuse. That settles that.
