1. Zambrano still has options?
2. Love that UMDB.Please note the starting pitcher for the Pie-Rats that day. It's a small league that we play in.http://www.leaptoad.com/mets/gamedetail.php?gameno=6065
3. Basically one good start seperated Pedro and Zambrano from Benson and Glavine also. A solid effort by the starting staff. Too bad this team can't hit.
4. BUMPJust wondering if some of the new folks are brand new or if they are disguised oldies. Mr. Uni Watch found his way over!
5. Wow. Don't the Met relievers realize that they suck?
6. Wouldn't a minor league be even harder to sneak through? Hey look, a minor leaguer on waivers. Um, sure, we'll take him.
7. ]3) Offer to strike a trade w/the lowest claiming team: 'OK, you can have him if you give us X ... otherwise we're pulling him back' Wouldn't X also have to go through waivers?
8. ]Kurt Friggin Abbott (not enough range to catch that crap 20-hopper up the middle in a certain Game 5).Not to mention watching a fastball go right down the middle as the last strike in Game 2, then turning around to argue with the ump.
9. One of my favorite lines of all time is of course Bob Costas' recap before the next game."Robin Ventura singled over the right-center field fence..."
10. ]Palmeiro has bigger issues than the suspension, however. He may very well be in contempt of Congress for his testimony before the Committee.I don't know if this is necessarily true. Assuming he's willing to lie again, he could say he never took steroids until after his Congressional hearing, so when he said at the time that he took steroids he wasn't lying.Obviously anyone with half a brain would see through this, but could it be legally possible to use this line of reasoning to stay of trouble? Can one of the CPF legal team comment? He also used the word 'intentionally' in that hearing. Maybe that can keep him out of more legal trouble.
11. ]Trading Mora was retarded.Saving grace: "Welcome aboardick"
12. Give Matsui a chance if he gets healthy. The last two months of the season don't mean much, IMO.
13. ]some disappointing answers when questioned on the issue.I don't remember these. Which Q&As are you referring to?
14. I wonder if he even gives a crap. After all, everyone knows he sucks but he still makes his money.
15. Hmmmmmmm. I'd forgotten about Diaz.
16. ]Mets general manager Omar Minaya is a huge fan of Ramirez, and the Mets nearly acquired the slugger last December. I don't remember this.I like the deal that JD posted.
17. So the Mets are giving up three prospects? And who plays right? Manny the Drunk or Cliff the Gimp? Gotta love those radio call-in people and their sources.
18. Just looked over his UMDB page, memories and all that for the first time. I'm pretty happy being me, but sometimes I think it'd be cool to be Wright.
19. MFS62 wrote:What scares me is Omar's penchant for making BIG deals/ trading name players. Soome have been good, some haven't worked out so well. I'm not nominating him for MENSA just yet.No strikes on the "big" moves so far as a Met. In fact I have no problems with any of his moves thus far, unless failing to get Delgado counts.I was very anti-Pedro at the beginning of the year, and anti-Bert. In Omar I trust.
20. ]I've actually read that the Mets really don't want to give up any of their top prospects for Soriano.I hope this is true.
21. Johnny Dickshot wrote:Gonzalez doesn't appear to be an able replacement for Milledge in the least,What I meant was, if Gonzalez is one of the best prospect in the majors, then this deal replaces a prospect with a prospect, and the one we get isn't blocked by Beltran.
22. ]I'm still down on Soriano, but the inclusion of Gonzalez makes me like this proposed deal a whole lot more. Me too, as it kind of cancels out the loss of Milledge. Milledge is blocked by Beltran anyway and we need a 1B for the future. I don't like losing Petit.
23. Rotblatt wrote:I blame Beltran for this loss. It's unreasonable and petty, but he looked terrible at the plate tonight. Funny, I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Still am really.Rotblatt wrote:This was a brutal fucking loss. I'm getting a sinking feeling of dejavu here. We're technically in it but we've now lost 3 of 4, 2 against the worst team in baseball and one--against a main competitor for the WC slot--featuring our bonafide ace against a AAA scrub. I'm thinking this, too. Last night was a rough night for me.
24. Yancy Street Gang wrote:And the Mets are trading Floyd, Cameron, and Zambrano for Manny Ramirez.Another good reason Phillips isn't involved with the team anymore.
