Me, too. Then September sucks too, if in a less painful way. _____________________________ This post had the designation 151) Glendon Rusch
  3. It's a tough call. I'm sure he'll need at least a full season of play before being a solid starter at first base, if he has that potential at all. _____________________________ This post had the designation 151) Glendon Rusch
  4. I wonder if Jacobs could fit the hole at first. _____________________________ This post had the designation 151) Glendon Rusch
  5. So instead of saying either: a) "You're wrong, and here is why Lambin should've been brought up," and explaining why the Mets were wrong. or "The Mets were right, leaving Lambin in AAA was the right move." or something along those lines, your reply is "The Mets haven't had a winning record in four years, their moves are wrong." Very compelling. My head really hurts from banging it against the wall. _____________________________ This post had the designation 151) Glendon Rusch

  7. ]no excuse for not using Lambin Considering that Lambin's stats from 7-22 on in AAA were not good, and that his good stretch prior to that came in the enormous sample size of 41 at-bats, the Mets decision not to bring him up was correct. Looks like the Mets keep getting them right. Strange. ____________________________ This post had the designation 151) Glendon Rusch

I don't think that a lack of motivation or focus has been a problem for Glavine at any point. ____________________________ This post had the designation 151) Glendon Rusch
  9. As Glavine was walking behind the girl who interviewed him after his interview was over, it looked like he gave her a friendly pat on the rear. ____________________________ This post had the designation 151) Glendon Rusch
  10. I'm shocked. I heard on M&MD that Glavine can't pitch against the Braves. You know, I'm wondering if 10 million for a season of Glavine next year isn't such a bad deal. Knock on wood. 2 outta 3 against the Braves is nice. Too bad we're not in a race :-( ____________________________ This post had the designation 151) Glendon Rusch
  11. Jacobs walks too. Bases loaded. A hit here would help with that problem of no closer. Hernandez has looked poor with the bat so far. Glavine on deck. ____________________________ This post had the designation 151) Glendon Rusch
  12. I would've gone with Ironyville. OE: This is my 4,000th post. ____________________________ This post had the designation 151) Glendon Rusch

  19. Damn. I was about to post a pretty chart. I take back everything nice that I said about Willie. Let Kaz play until his legs fall off. He's hitting .370 in September for crying out loud. ____________________________ This post had the designation 152) Anthony Young

  21. And I'm pretty sure once again, at least as far as his comment on Graves goes, the writer is just trying to stir up the shit. And he succeeded. I'll go as far as to guarantee that Danny Graves will not be the 2006 Mets' closer. Mark it in the prediction archives. ____________________________ This post had the designation 152) Anthony Young
  22. I've been frustrated with Willie at points during the season, too, but I'd like to defend him some. ]1) david wright should not be hitting 6th, 7th, or 8th. Wright didn't bat eighth once all year, and steadily moved up the lineup all season. ]2) ishii should not be starting I can't argue much here. Ishii was left in the rotation way too long. ]3) cairo should not be starting The other option was a guy who you say sucks too, and for a long time while that other option was on the DL, there were no other options. Of course, now Matsui is hitting the crap out of the ball, so he got around to the right decision there too. I can't defend Willie much here, I was arguing for Matsui's return to second for a while after he came off the DL. But at the same time I can see him feeling like both options sucked, so he was hoping Cairo would return to what he saw last year. ]4) how to make a double switch (ie dont pull a good hitter who will probably bat again, he's done this to both wright and floyd and sure enough their spot came up in a big spot and we got a pinch hitter) In fairness, Howe had this problem too, as do all managers. Even the celebrated genius LaRussa makes calls that I sometimes scratch my head about. I think all managers can have trouble with this, especially if they are first starting out and/or come from the AL. Willie has both counts working against him.
  23. ="Rotblatt"]Absolutely fucking nothing. ]Willie will shake pen BY ADAM RUBIN DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER Willie Randolph intends to experiment with roles in the bullpen now that the Mets have faded from the race. As a result, Braden Looper may not exclusively be used to close games during the season's final two weeks. Randolph indicated that might mean more use of Shingo Takatsu and Danny Graves as both players audition for potential roles in the 2006 bullpen. The manager still envisions Victor Zambrano as a starter, but said he figures to test him in different relief situations, including pitching back-to-back days. Randolph mentioned Aaron Heilman as a candidate for more late-game situations, though the manager has said he doesn't envision Heilman as a closer in 2006. What the fuck!!!!!!!!!! He envisions Danny Fucking Graves as a closer but not Heilman? What fucking planet is Willie living on? Jesus fucking Christ, he is absolutely retarded. Heilman is hopefully going to be a starter. As far as Graves, hopefully he's just taking a look at him for a random bullpen spot instead of the closer role.
  24. Actually down to .702, since one for three with a single is .666. ____________________________ This post had the designation 152) Anthony Young
