  1. Who are the four folks who like the trade? I haven't heard any pro-trade arguments yet.
  2. I'm just not buying that it's prospect-blockage. They dumped Galarraga last year. Maybe they're getting things right now. ___________________ This post had the designation 90) Danny Heep
  3. Reyes and Wright were only brought up because the team was "forced to"? I'm getting more confused by the minute.
  4. That's a lot of gloating that the Alomar move didn't work out. What were your thoughts before he joined the team? I take it you knew he wouldn't pan out? Signing Bret Boone and seeing if a rookie can get the job done are not mutually exclusive. I don't see how it can be argued otherwise. If Boone doesn't play well, he gets cut. Same as Galarraga.
  5. Who would spurn a city in favor of Pittsburgh? Who would spurn a team in favor of the Pierats?!
  6. ]Omar looks better after Boone gets the job and sux claiming "Who knew? He was a proven, 3x A-S bbbyyy" than he does if Keppinger gets the job and sux. Is it possible that Omar is just exploring different options since he's not enamored with Matsui? Or is this motivation just pure ass-coverage and the inability to take younger guys seriously? What's your theory on the Kennedy assassination? How do you spell assassination? You are pointing out the similarities between Boone and Alomar that anyone can see. But there are no similiarities at all in the reasons they were brought to the team.
  7. Is the new Met network going to be on Cablevision? Or is all that crap from last year going to happen again?
  8. I voted dislike. Even though I'm not in love with Seo, I wouldn't have made this deal. A mediocre reliever and a prospect were the return for a decent starter and our own prospect.

  10. It's something to talk about at least. Activity on the board is way down.
  11. Harrison Ford returning in the title role. I just hope he's still alive when filming is done. Somehow I doubt he'll be doing his own stunts this time around. Of course most stuntmen are made of 0's and 1's these days, anyways. The only more blatant example of an attempt to cash in with a star who is too old would be if Stallone tried to make another Rocky movie... Story by George Lucas but the screenplay is by some other guy (whew), James Nathanson. Spielberg directing. Little to no other details as of yet on IMDB.com

  13. ]"conventional wisdom" that 'AL offenses are better by leaps and bounds' I think the conventional wisdom is not that the AL has better hitters but just more of them in the lineup at once. Makes sense to me.
  14. "Poll" from the radio announcers.
  15. Ed Coleman says it's a done deal. We give up Hamulack and Seo for Sanchez and the guy who closed after Brazoban went down last year (Schmoll? Schmoe?) I have yet to see it elsewhere.
  16. He's been that size throughout his Met career.
  17. Nymr83 wrote: apparently we all know something Seo that omar doesn't....he's a better pitcher than the guy you got back! In theory at least. Time will tell.

  19. I would hope so. Maybe other GM's aren't buying that the rest of his career is going to be similar to his 2005 season. _________________________ This post had the designation 91) Carl Everett
  20. If the Mets do win the World Series this year, I think we should all celebrate by tap-dancing nude.
  21. I don't like this trade....but I'm not as high on Seo as everyone else is. He had a very good half a year last year. He should be at peak trade value right now. That said, we should be able to get more than a mediocre reliever for him, no? Maybe not.
  22. ]Oh, really, Sal? Yes, it's quite interesting, Bret, you should read it. Oh, I will, I promise you. Oh, shut up, the both of you, no one cares. Let's get back to the issue. Okay, Doc. You're the boss. Post (portion) That Made Me Laugh Out Loud of the Day.
  23. Johnny Dickshot wrote: That said, in my opinion, fans who justify any and all booing by remarking "He gets paid millions to play a game, tough shit," and/or "Booing is the only way to let management know we disagreed with something management did months ago," or "I paid my money I can act like a jackass if I so choose" are mooks who embarrass me and make fools of themselves, and possibly, interfere with a player's ability to get the best result in his moment. Seems like, they often think too highly of their own influence (assuming as they do that the player or manager they target is too dense to understand fans are generally dissatisfied with poor results) or perhaps, don't think much at all (The "fans who boo when guys are announced" and "fans who don't understand what the fuck is going on anyhow" demographics index pretty closely at Shea in my unscientific observations). Perfectly said. There's also a lot of hidden self-loathing in the "they get paid millions, I bought a ticket, so I'll boo them if I want" excuse. Maybe people feel better about themselves if they can boo someone who they feel undeservedly makes more money then them. ](The "fans who boo when guys are announced" and "fans who don't understand what the fuck is going on anyhow" demographics index pretty closely at Shea in my unscientific observations). Also closely linked with the demographics of people who post "MATSUI SUCKS!!!!" or "I HATE LOOPER!!!" on a message board.
  24. For us newer folks, can we get a name?
