  2. I'd prefer to see Heilman get his shot at the rotation. Bannister has been impressive. But, as the saying goes, "spring training is spring training."
  3. Heard it today. Not terrible as far as commercials go. Still Steve Trachsel after 20 posts (6020). Takes longer to shake these guys now.
  4. Yes, a man stuggling with an addiction is an 'effing idiot'. Have some compassion already. His drug problem has nothing to do with you. Get over it.
  5. ]only dropping that low because of the presence of Scott Boras as an agent to scare off the low spenders Not fair to Pittsburgh and Kansas City. Now they can't even afford the prospects.
  6. Bannister seems to be having a good spring.
  7. ]I agree that we have a unique opportunity here to build for our future, but I have little faith that we'll fully capitilize on it. ]I have little confidence that they'll take full advantage of it, and that they won't squander some of these prospects WTF is this? Who are you people and what have you done with the regular Kool-aid-drinking, Wilpon-ass-kissing, blue-and-orange-glasses-wearing CPF'ers that think Omar's shit is chocolate sauce? (And do I really need to mention that my SC is about a billion here?) Or can we all agree that we have a above average, level-headed group of Met fans with only the occasional clown who likes to try and justify the Benson for Julio deal?

  9. I thought M:I was okay. I thought M:I2 played like a James Bond movie directed by John Woo, right down to the guy/girl car race hacked right out of Goldeneye. But I liked it. Good stunt work. I like Woo. And the scene where the birds flew out after the door exploded was cool. And the main title song (score?) is kick-ass. I think MI:3 will be good mindless summer fun. I could be wrong.
  10. Don't try too hard RealityChuck. Last year it was Galarraga. This year it's Boone. For some reason, some people think having these guys in camp means that some youngster will never get a shot to play baseball again.
  11. Plenty of fodder for Met-bashing. Bret Boone's invite is not such a big deal. Too much is made of guys like that. Galarraga's invite was a huge problem last year too, right?
  12. Nady is hitting the piss out of the ball, huh?
  13. The Mets seem to like to use 2002 to evaluate players. That's why we traded for Julio.
  14. Matt Murdock, Esq. wrote: ooh. i'm all a tingle. somebody pinch me. you do realize that MI:1 and MI:2 both sucked big hairy moose cock, don't you? There's nothing wrong with mindless summer movies. You go ahead and watch Citizen Kane again.
  15. Let's just leave it alone. The system of creating threads is just fine.
  16. Nymr83 wrote: his english has really slipped in the last couple of years. That could explain his recommendation of Kazuo.
  17. I seriously doubt there will be any more trades in the next 23 days. My guess is Diaz and Nady are both on the opening day roster.
  18. I disagree.
  19. I have a lot of trouble with the millions of calculations that some of these stat-heads use. I have a hard time getting away from what I learned in stats...about how every time an operation is performed it adds error into the result.
  20. Nymr83 wrote: But his career stats in a blind study of baseball fans with the name John Doe next to them and see if he'd get in, i doubt it. I disagree.
  21. Not that that is a terrible thing. And he's certainly lasted longer than No-mah. Only to be overtaken by Tejada.
  22. ]that stupidly dove head first into the stands. I admire this play.
  23. SwitchHitter wrote: ="Elster88"]There is no reason to hate Derek Jeter. Any Met fan who does just has Yankee-envy. I ain't no Met fan, so I can hate him. Seriously, he's not a defensive star and I'm tired of him be portrayed as so good at fielding short that A-Rod had to move for him. He ain't that good, his head is just that big.. So hate his manager. SwitchHitter wrote: ="Elster88"]Leave Jeter alone. No. I won't. My guy Everett gets short shrift because of Jeter. Everett is only the best-fielding SS in the majors. No one that I know of calls Jeter the best-fielding SS in the majors. (Michael Kay doesn't count.) Your boy's obscurity has nothing to do with Jeter. SwitchHitter wrote: So I don't like him and you can't make me. I don't give a crap if you like him or not. I'm not encouraging anyone to like him. I'm just pointing out that he has done nothing wrong. Nothing to inspire hate.
  24. Must be hard to swim.
