Minnesota -- although winning tonight -- will still be 5 games back even if they hold on and the AL West teams are playing each other so there's virtually no way all three can catch them. I hear you. But Houston and California/Anaheim both won too so dare to dream
  2. The Orioles lose, so the Astro win knocks both the BoSox and the O's out. 9/289/289/279/279/269/269/269/209/199/189/139/139/129/119/109/9

  4. Me too. That was brutal.
  5. Cards magic number is 2.
  6. Zvon wrote: That didn't hit him. It hit the ground firts, then maybe hit his toe. Once it hit's the ground it can't be off his foot, right? I think that still counts as a foul, as long as you're in the batter's box. If you're out of the box it's an out.
  7. Wow Walker swung at like four pitches out of the zone when it got to 3-2, including the one he struck out on. Fighting off the close ones I guess but it could've loaded the bases if he took one.
  8. MLB network is showing the Card-Buc game too, but it says the Astros game is up next. I was hoping for the Dodgers-Giants game. The display says "Regional Coverage" so I guess they're showing whatever game is closest to the area that's tuning in.

But I'm fine with the Pirates staying in the wildcard spot and then getting shut down by Arrieta. I'd rather the Cubs then beat the Cardinals instead of vice-versa, but that's just my general disdain for them over there in Kansas City.
  10. ABNS has it perfect: LOLOLOLL
  11. Cards-Pirates is on ESPN2.
  12. Nitkowski seems like an ass too. Is he? CJ, being part of a major league clubhouse does not give you some special insight here. There are the same types of asshole in every walk of life.
  13. I'd like to think that his nickname is Paps.
  14. From the same article: Meanwhile, the four Mets starters in the series -- Steven Matz, Noah Syndergaard, Matt Harvey and deGrom -- combined to strike out 34 and issue no walks. I know the K/BB ratio for the whole team has been amazing all year and Colon was a big part of that ratio. But holy shit what a stat.
  15. Rubin says deGrom will start game 1. Not unexpected. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/111280/jacob-degrom-rebounds-after-skipped-start

  17. Ed C said today that Terry says that he hasn't made up his mind between Colon and Matz yet.
  18. The Cubs can't win the NL Central
  19. I voted Matz. I'd rather Colon be a long man out of the pen.
  20. Bump
  21. Edgy MD wrote: There's some pretty solid consensus developing, based on the votes thus far. The next thing to decide then is which of the six starting pitchers you're planning to carry gets bumped to the pen. I have a thread for that. http://www.cranepoolforum.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=23345

  23. Keith said on the radio a couple of days ago that Matz would be the fourth starter.
  24. I voted for Uribe assuming he'll be healthy.
  25. !!!!
