  1. WOW No one covering third and the left fielder sneaks in behind Valentin at third. Almost got him.
  2. This must have been a great day to be at Shea. Nice weather, huge hits by Milledge and Wright, two homers by right, a close game, and a Giant got tossed. Just gotta finish it off. ___________ Apologies to JD, but I agree with the bunt here.
  3. As Matsui's biggest supporter, I have to say that Valentin desrves to start at second.
  4. Someone got tossed in the Giant dugout. I love reading lips on TV. The home plate umpire said "Yeah you." And Milledge said "That's what I'm talking about" after his double.
  5. Curtain call for David. If I believed in clutch, he would be Mr. Clutch.
  6. Johnny Dickshot wrote: Poorly called for, and poorly executed, bunts in this game helped put us in this situation. Disagree on Valentin's failure to bunt. Both Delgado and Wright scored anyway. I agree it was a bad idea to bunt there, but it ultimately had no effect. ----------- Agree 100% on Lo Duca's bunt pop-out.

And our middle infield has been very good this year. Just didn't get it done this time. Probably escape with no runs scored if the double play is turned. Sanchez gets some blame in my book, but not a lot. I do not blame Willie.

He will be starting on three, rather than the normal four days' rest. Why?!?!?!
  9. Poo. It's Jose's fault. Bad Jose. He won't be getting Schaefer from me today.
  10. It's a tough call who has gotten less run support in their "good" starts, Traxxx or Petey.
  11. Duaner has pitched in exactly half of the Mets games before today. Now he's pitched in just over half.
  12. Uh-oh. With first and second, no out, Reyes makes an awful flip on a double play ball to second, looks like he never had control with his throwing hand. Everyone is safe. And Bonds is up with the bases juiced.
  13. Nady walking around in the dugout. I was so not expecting that hit out of Milledge. It was an outside curve that had a little break to it.
  14. I agree Scarlet. I sometimes wonder if even a creepy commercial like those has an effect on smokers. To any smokers out there...do those non-smoking ads do anything to you? Do they affect your decision to smoke?

  16. Zvon wrote: Delgado lead off double. Wright draws the walk. After two Ks by Morris , Milledge drives in two with a double to left center. Come on peeps. I can read double, walk, K, K, 2-run double in about eighteen different spots on the internet, and it will be archived forever in other spots too. Sorry to pick on you Zvon. Everyone does that, including me. ________________________ Delgado's double one hopped the wall. Milledge's was a sharp line drive between left and center. Bonds cut it off in fairly deep left-center, but then stumbled a couple of steps before throwing it in. The relay from Vizquel was fairly close but Wright beat it pretty easily.
  17. There are two commercials on SNY that make me as uncomfortable as I ever have been watching a commerical. One is the artery clogged with fat. The other is the guy who had his voicebox removed and they show him Q-tipping the hole in his throat. From the perspective of the commercial, they are probably very powerful in getting across the idea that smoking is bad for you. But I don't smoke. I liked those anti-smoking "knowledge" commercials that they did a while ago. And those got the message across too. Why not just run something similar to those?
  18. Edgy DC wrote: Before the year is over, Reyes is going to try and steal home with Delgado up. That would be about the worst baserunning decision possible. But I want to see it anyway.
  19. I had thought that Castro chose "Darth Vader's theme" as his at-bat music. But they just played it for Traxxxx too. Maybe they play it for people who don't have their own selection.
  20. Zvon wrote: YEAA---- Chavez makes Bonds look old. Triples past Barry. Boy, am I glad Chavez is playin today Chavez didn't really do it. Bonds did it to himself.
  21. Bonds dives but misses, enabling Chavez to turn his fairly weak pop-up to short left into a triple.
  22. That's a great yearbook cover. Interesting that the Philly is the only one that is not attacking OR even defending himself. Did they suck in '69 or something?
  23. Beltran is unshaven today. Makes him look more like a man and less like a baby.
  24. nymets.com wrote: "The best thing that happened is that I got drilled by Luis Vizcaino," Nady said. The pitch from Vizcaino struck him in the left side. When the doctor examined the area, Nady said, "Take a look over here, too." Some probing resulted in a trip to the hospital, a drink of dye, a scan and ultimately that surgery that put a temporary halt to physical activity for the 27-year-old right fielder. Wow.
