This toe thing is worrysome. If I was makin that kind of doe, Id just lob off my toe. And get a wooden one. Then be known as Pedro "Pegtoe" Martinez for the rest of my career. (Hows that for a nickname, Val?)

="Rotblatt"]]Alex Rodriguez Pulls Out Of World Baseball Classic Because Everyone Else Is Doing It NEW YORKCiting concern that his fellow major-leaguers would consider him an outcast and overachiever, Alex Rodriguez announced Wednesday that he will not take part in the increasingly unpopular World Baseball Classic. "The Classic seemed like it would be a great opportunity to represent my country and give baseball unprecedented worldwide exposure; that is, back when everyone else said they were going to be in it, too," said Rodriguez, who watched as stars like Barry Bonds, Nomar Garciaparra, and John Smoltz withdrew from the tournament in recent weeks. "When most of the other guys tentatively said they would participate, I thought that playing was a good decision, but after seeing my heroes like the great Mariano Rivera bow out, I am now sure that this is the right, and popular, thing to do." Rodriguez added that, even though the World Baseball Classic "is for losers," he wouldn't rule out playing in the tournament if enough of his friends decide to reconsider their withdrawal. LMAOOOOOOOOO

One of the pride and joys of my remaining collection isnt even a player card.

="seawolf17"]LOVE the '06 mlb.com fantasy preview graphics. Old skool, baby. LOVED THAT PREVIEW! I went and screen grabbed every Met in that set seawolf. Did you see the Piazza? Met picture but Padres border. And Lo Duca, Marlins pic and Met border. Jacobs still pictured as a Met. I always loved stuff like that(opposed to how they used to poorly draw the new hat on the player). They had two versions of Nady, one OF and one 1B (maybe the only player done up so) and a card for Milledge. I never realized how much I really liked that '85 design until I saw that preview thing. At the time I found the '85 Fleer set to be superior in design and focused on collecting that one. But the '85 Topps, its simplicity and the inclusion of the team logo.......it was a great pure baseball card, looking back. It brought back memories. Yancy...are there more Met cards available from the 2 types youve posted?

Is it just me or does Kerri Heilman look just like Katie Holmes? Here,...lemme bring one eyebrow down. see^

When he slid in I was jumping up and down like a kid. I hadnt jumped around like that since the ball went thru Buckners legs.

I met Lima when he was playing for the Newark Bears and was in AC to play the Surf afew years ago. He came into my office for financial assistance. Seemed like a very nice guy. He was tall, dressed snappy, and had what I believe was an all star game ring on. It was the ring that got my attention. And then I saw his signature and knew who he was. He was very gracious and classy. He said then that he'd be back in MLB before long, and he did get back, and did well, with KC and LA. He looked all done last year tho. I wish him the best but I dont see him makin the club. That would be a pleasant surprize tho, if he did and he was effective.

Very kool of the old general. Yea, that kid has learned about karma at a young age.

btw, for those who may be new to this, you can preset your team player slots and pitching rotation for the whole week (even longer) in one sitting in Yahoo FBB, as well as fine tune it daily. You have to do this in the correct order to assure it is saved properly. You can confirm that it is set up correctly by previewing each day seperately.

In the thick of the '69 pennant race.
