  2. ScarletKnight41 wrote: Who the heck is announcing this game? Who was the genius who said that Castro was the Mets' number 1 catcher last year until he was replaced by LoDuca? On Fox I think its Sweet Lou- Hes also is under the impression this is Betrans second year in the NL.
  3. May as well swing the bats boys, cuz the umps are callin anything close. Castro looks at strike 3. Its up to Kaz.
  4. Mr. Franco with a smack single on the tail end of a hit and run. 1st and 3rd- 1 out- Castro.
  5. David Wright whips a line single the other way to lead off the 2nd.
  6. Nice uneventful first. Glavine looks like he's got his stuff. Is that Pinella in the Fox booth? He's awful.
  7. I always thought if i was a manager id want my A lineup out there for weekend games(esp home games), but playing fantasy baseball has taught me other wise.

  9. Your rally song was one of my favs and the best Edge. They just dont always work, and thats what makes em special. I bet that one can work at a time when the time really needs to come today. Sadly, this game was another wasted Pedro outting. He wasnt great, but comon--all those Ks and only afew runs. He was. The boys have to step up and hit and make it so. What happened to Beltrans Pedro homers? At least we useta be able to count on those. But i tip my hat to Johnson.

  11. SteveJRogers wrote: I'm getting Gregg Jeffereies flashbacks looking at Carson Palmer! LMAO^ Backspasms--he'll be fine. (and does that lil Wright blurb count as an SI cover?)

  13. Two points upon seeing the game- (im not meaning to trash Willie, just talkin baseball here). The move in the 7th- Bringing Bell in to pitch to Burrell. Now I know that Willie didnt put Bell in there to walk him, or even pitch around him in that situation. But he walks him and then has to face the lefty Howard, who singles in an insurance run for the Phils. I would have just had Feliciano, who just had K'd Abreu, walk Burrell (intentionally or by pitching around him) and stay in to face Howard. Not a big deal, and could have been played either way. The former just seemed the most logical, with the way Burrell hits the Mets. Up side- Bell did get some work in and does have to get in the groove. He pitched well after that. More upsetting to see was Utley's 7th inning double and extra base (he went to third on the throw home). That was the go ahead run for the Phils. I saw a view from behind/left of the plate on the replay. Utley whips a liner to the wall, not quite down the line but into far right. The view showed all of right field even before the ball is struck, and Nady is nowhere to be seen. Where the hell was he playin? This is hot hitting Utley up with a speedy Victorino on first. You give him the right field corner? Even playing a normal right field Nady would have retrieved that ball with time for a sure play at the plate. Im not blaming Nady- Im not blaming Willie. Im just posting my observations and blowing off steam. A sweep here would have been nice. I read we havent swept the Phils since '97.
  14. Love that pic mole. Alls I know is that I love that the Mets/Omar are/is doin stuff and not standing pat (not that they could the way things are going). And from the vantage point of first place. I like .
  15. I saw a clip of him at the post game press conference. Yea, it was kinda sad to see him like that. I felt for him. Apparently he felt that he showed the guy up and didnt want to do that, but had to make that move then and there. I also saw the game highlights. He did have to make that move then and there. Maybe this is a reverse Leyand and fires up his team. ..........................nah.
  16. Reyes: 4 Floyd: 1.5 Nady: 1.5 Gonzalez: 2 Bell: 1
  17. LMAO! this is classic. Im passin this around.
  18. nasty stuff- potential. A MLB pitcher must be able to hold runners on their bases. Or,.....at least give the impression of holding them on, anyway.
  19. Frayed Knot wrote: My initial inclination is that I don't like this deal. Ditto, and for all the reasons you've mentioned FK. We did need an inning eater so Ill give this the 'ol wait and see.

  22. Its really nice to see Soler sitting next to Pedro on the bench and both having a laugh. What that must mean to a guy like Soler who took a boat from Cuba to get here............ to be sitting next to Pedro Martinez and chuckling. Only in America.
