  2. SteveJRogers wrote: Maybe they need a Captain... S.I. kinda appointed LoDuca as team Captain. Captain Red Ass. But I guess that really doesnt count unless your team mates do it. Valentin --no brew for you-- gets picked off 1st after drawing a walk. Dag.
  3. Chad--Ya let me down. No brew for you. 6-5 Mets, and what I thought was gonna be a easy win proves to me that Jethro Tull was right..... Nothin's easy.
  4. ...or make way for Bradford. I thought we'd be going thru Marlin pitchers all night but instead the Fish are going thru Met pitchers.
  5. Uggla pinch hits for Jacobs. Feleece walks him. Guess he'd rather face Cabrera. UGH.
  6. Gwreck wrote: ="Zvon"]Maybe he wants to ensure it ends up a save situation. *Z pulls out a tuft of hair* I'm sure he didn't want it to be, but now that it is, I'd like to see Wagner come in and get a save to get right back on the horse, etc etc. Im with ya. Fortunately Mr Herandez strikes out Olivo. Unfortunatley the third strike is also a wild pitch, and Olivo reaches. Helms follows with a single to center-Olivo to 2nd. Amezega works Mr H for a 6 pitch at bat, and flies out to center- Oliva moves to third on the sac. 2 out. Come on Berto- shut the door--we traded for last years model. He wont get the chance-Feliciano on to face ex-Met Jacobs.
  7. Reads as a one pitch out by Berto. Good job old man. Ughm--I mean Mr. Hernandez.
  8. Gwreck wrote: Gee, Willie, do you think it's time to get somebody up? Maybe he wants to ensure it ends up a save situation. *Z pulls out a tuft of hair* Trax gives back 2, allowing solo shots to Ramirez and Cabrera. His P.C. up to 93 and I have to assume this pause in the reading action means Willies goin to get him.
  9. seawolf17 wrote: I really enjoy SNY. I wish i could get it down here. In a way Im okay with it- cuz when the Mets are on TV I gotta watch and I would watch em all, and enjoy it....... but hardly ever leave the house. lol.
  10. ="Yancy Street Gang"] I'm watching on television with my MLB Extra Innings package. It's on Sports South, or something like that. Thnx-.. Trachsel looks good thru 4, only allowing a run on a Cabrera RBI single. Around the league: In St Lou: Chase Utley is 0 for 2 so far in his bid to keep his hitting streak alive.
  11. Thanx- This is how Sportline writes it up: Reyes reached on fielder's choice to third, Chavez to third, Trachsel out at second, Chavez scored on Amezaga's throwing error. ____ So the error was on the throw to first. Reading the game leaves alot to be desired. Florida is trying to give us this one. Im not complaining.
  12. Another Marlins error--another run. If anyone can color in what happened there please do. 6-0 Mets.
  13. Chavez works Pinto for 8 pitches and reaches on a single. Great at-bat. Pinto wild pitches him to second. Lets line up these Florida pitchers and go thru em all. Pinto WALKS Trax-- ha.
  14. Nolasco is pulled for a pinch hitter? In the 2nd? Yikes! Another blow to my BB fantasy life.
  15. Yancy Street Gang wrote: I'm getting the broadcast from Florida. There was a commercial for Marlins ticket packages. They don't say that going to Marlins games is "fun" or "exciting" or anything like that. They stress that it's "convenient." No wonder the stands look so empty. Whats the station? I used to get alot of games thru "The Game Live" website but more and more thats not working for some reason. I gave up trying weeks ago and I just read the game on Sportsline. Id love to hear the game.
  16. Another error by the Marlins. But the Mets 5th run is an earned one, a sac fly by Delgado. Again, its Reyes that scores.
  17. Reyes and LoDuca start off the second with back to back singles. Boy- those two are hot. Nolasco is a good pitcher but he always gets all shook up facing the Mets. Beltan reaches on a bunt single. We got ducks on the pond people. Again.
  18. seawolf17 wrote: Gotta love when your pitcher gets an AB before he throws his first pitch. I love it when an avatar goes from some guy who seemed to have no clue to a hotty. Marlins threaten, as Ramirez singles-steals and.... is stranded on third. Nice 1st inning by Trachsel.
  19. KC wrote: Seems like I always turn the game on just a little late and I miss Reyes' first AB and he's standing on first. ...and then second,...and then running by the plate. Mets have scored 4 runs on some timely hitting and shoddy play by the Fish. They already have 2 errors that cost them 2 runs. Mets up, 4-0. Trachsel with a nice lil cusion as he takes the mound.
  20. Mets already on the board--ANOTHER 1st inning run. Reyes singles-steals second- the hot hitting LoDuca drives him in with a single. Bases are now loaded for David Wright- no outs.
  21. ="Elster88"]="Zvon"]Sometimes he's all humble and tries to say the "right" thing (like about filling Nadys shoes his 1st time up) and sometimes he appears like a real self centered dork. Being the cynical guy that I am, this is why I think the humility and doing the right thing is all an act. Im sure it is, but dont you think that all players have their "game face", and their cliche responses and their act? The real pros never show us their true selves, just their public selves. I think Lastings better get his act together- and if he wants to act big-better play big.
  22. ="Yancy Street Gang"]Thanks! I always strive for reflective correctness! Ya gotta admit its catchy. "reflective correctness"..... You can have that. BTW, Im the guy who gave Stephen Colbert "truthyness".
  23. Very reflectively correct,IMO. And always appreciated Yancy.
  24. ="old original jb"] I have access to the soundtrack. Here's what really happened: WR: Lastings--what happened on that fly? LM: Don't know--I think I felt a twinge and pulled up short. You know coach, a ball hit me on the shoulder blade in BP today. WR: BP? That's rich. Everyone on this team knows damn well you don't get here in time for batting practice.... Lastings, turn around, and let me see that scapula! LMAO! Good stuff. I dont get this kid. Sometimes he's all humble and tries to say the "right" thing (like about filling Nadys shoes his 1st time up) and sometimes he appears like a real self centered dork. I imagine this is gonna be an ongoing inner battle with him. Like Ive said b4--he better walk the walk.
  25. Cant say we didnt see this coming. He needs more seasoning. I thought we'd be seeing a good amount of Ks and some lights out performances. We saw a very average pitcher. Maybe even under average, tho I think if given time he would have gotten his ERA and WHIP down a bit.
