  1. wooohooo, a late Christmas present.
  2. I predict whatevers goin down is gonna go down today.
  3. As far as the immediate future goes, I like this deal. Some of my fav kabooms go out the window, but I still think we got 2 more things we needed, esp a good man behind the plate defensively. Church swings half a mean bat. Lastings may live up to his potential in part or in whole, but looks like the Mets were not ready to give him the chance any time soon. Better to get what we need now while we can.
  4. LMAO. Best game evah!

I figured the skanks would do something like offer him less. But the world series thing is just bullshit. Its almost spiteful. Yea, Cards would fit him like a glove.

Byrds goose is cooked after bk2bk homers in the 6th. If you got a home run ball while attending the game, would you throw it back? I wouldn't. Especially a momento from a playoff game. Id have that on display on my desk or something. "Thats the Youkilis HR ball I caught in the '07 NLCS." And that lady who got Ortiz's homer...omg--she just sold it to a Boston fan, lol. Wonder how much she got.
  9. That is very interesting. Thanks for sharing this.

Yea, that pivot by Tulowitski earlier looked amazing when he did it, in real time. On slo-mo replay it looked rather simple, also a compliment to him.

Watching the Sat night game, seriously, I just used a racist word when I really meant "Guardians" at Boston. This has been just one great game of baseball here.
  14. Wow. Well, a manager like Dusty really should be managing somewhere. Glad to see him back on field level.

I'm really surprised that I'm not seeing clips (on ESPN tonight) of the '73 playoffs when Sparky pulled the Reds off the field at Shea because of fans throwing stuff. I'm starting to think all footage of that series has been destroyed.
  17. That does make me understand a lot better MM.And it makes sense. Thanks for your explanation.

Its true that Upton sticking out his arm was going a little out of his way. He may have still been able to upset Kaz without doing such an obvious thing. And it is true that the rule says you cannot intentionally break up a double play. Thats what it says, I looked it up. I still think that call was bullshit. Breaking up a DP with your body (within reason) as your feet go into the bag, as they should, is a very exciting play in baseball. Baseball needs more excitement, not less.
  19. Edgy DC wrote: They are re-evaluated. Feel free to go the rankings forum and add your voice to any season in which Trachs is ranked. The new list is factored in by everybody having his rank (the top guy getting a rank of 30) squared, multiplied by 88 (Met wins), divided by 10 (to chop a zero off the end, every score is divided by 10). This year's top player, presumably Wright, gets (30^2)*88/10 points added to his all-time total. That's 7,920 points, about the difference between David Cone and John Milner. wow. very interesting. very kool. I will go check that out. Thanks

Hey, maybe as far as pitching goes that's top 50 material. What's top-50 material? Are there 20 more accomplished pitchers? Not in my book, but this isn't my book we go by. It's a book written on consensus. In the post season he started 2 games and lasted a total of 4.1 innings with a 14.54 ERA. That sucks. It's also a small sample. To me, this really effects his standings in relation to what he accomplished for my team. Nobody goes backwards. That doesn't make sense. It's a cumulative total. Those two small samples were his two biggest assignments in a Met uniform. I'm all for the consensus method. I'm simply stating my opinion. In reference to pitchers in Met history I'm not sure what top 50 material is. Where is the current overall list, I'd like to take a look at it. My point is that as far as overall all-time Mets go, older non active players should be able to be re-evaluated as to their place. Not simply brushed aside for current crop. Just sayin.... How is this new list factored in to the existing list?
  21. Valadius wrote: Um... Z? Are you seriously leaving out Aaron Heilman? That is a mistake. I did some last minute changes and I knew id screw up. He was pretty high on my list too. Ill fix that--thanks Val On edit: I first wrote up a list off the top of my head. Then I typed it up. Then I went to take a look at the seasonal stats, which compelled me to make some changes. Conine got bumped.

The best you can do is hope hold your place for a long time. Oh. So that's how someone like Trachsel ends up being a top 50 all time Met. Hmmmm... Don't seem right to me but I'm just along for the ride. WEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeee~~~~~~~~~~~~
