  1. Manuel to Feliciano: "You ain't gangsta no more my man. In the clubhouse you'll find my doghouse."
  2. I'm all for Lincecum getting all tired running the bases and sliding and stuff, but he can't get past third.
  3. If Sandoval made contact with Huffs leg it would have snapped like a toothpick.
  4. He bunts I'll have a shit fit.
  5. Can't score any runs? One run. Get that one run! I'll settle for a tie, and then a loss. But tie it!
  6. Reyes out. Great Beltran in. Great!
  7. I'm still waiting to find out when the new episodes air so I can see myself flub the last question on TV, but, here's a picture of the new host. I won't spoil it by telling you she doesn't look as good in person: She looks like an implanted guy all done up in that pic, so, yea, I'm bummed that if we met face to face I'd have to do the ol' horse whinny noise. Thanx.
  8. Two words: Vanis Takee! Its like opening a pack of baseball cards and getting three Beltrans! YAY!
  9. I love when you guys break stuff down
  10. Gwreck knocks one outta the park with his KTE
  11. Got my ticket here for the 1996 All Star Game at the Vet. Great box seats (for a game of this stature), section 232. 65$ I know over time prices do and should go up. But 65 bucks (Don't know if I ever told the story of me sneaking into the after party with some of my brothers and a few friends. I think I did though. That's a classic.)
  12. Nothing wrong with Frenchy coming off the bench as a bat or a late inning D guy after Beltran returns. We all know Pagan HAS to play. Pagan can go from right to center to spell Beltran, and to left to rest Bay. Frenchy will get just enough playing time so we can tell when he's in one of his hot streaks and let events like that dictate if he should play more. I have no idea how he will be on this team as a hitter off the bench. But he's happy and he wants to stay here, and that should motivate and focus him enough to give whatever role he ends up in all he's got. But the big thing, in my mind, is having that arm in when it may be needed most. A real close game, late inning double switch kinda deal. Come on, we have all seen how runners don't even try to test him. (We all saw yesterday in the AS game how a great throw from an outfielder can stomp out a potential rally.) That could end up a huge factor in a close game, and something tells me we will need all the close ones we can get from here on in. And he is good for the clubhouse in that he uses his excess energy to tie up reporters while the team showers and relaxes after a game. He absorbs the attention like a towel absorbs water. He's a go to guy, and that frees up other players, like Wright, to lay back a bit more. He's a good cheerleader kinda type that can also come in quite handy on the field. I say he should stay.

They weren't required but it was a deliberate attempt to get everyone to wear them. I believe David said "that's what they gave us." They look less stupid if everyone is wearing them and of course they offer much better protection... It makes sense to me. I don't think anyone would want to lose one of their top players for any length of time to an injury occurring during an AS game. Could you imagine how things would be going today if Dave accidently got beaned in the game? I was glad to see him in that helmet. Those shoes.......not so much.
  14. Oh, cept for maybe an arm.
  15. I'll say this right now, right here. Already the Mets have given me a season to remember. A season that has me sitting up in my seat and wanting to believe again. And the hope for more of the same in the second half. And, with the team we had coming out of the gate, and where we are now, at the halfway point, I couldn't ask for anything more.
  16. But that metallic sheen on the blue and that crappy outlined insignia is just boogers, isn't it? The orange shoes, on the other hand hand, are Sheariffic. Hate to bring this thread back to what really matters, but: The on the Mets caps should NEVER be anything but orange. NEVER! I don't care if they trim it in flowers or dog doo, but it should always be and forever stay orange. The meddling with this universal fact is just another of many reasons the Mets are suffering T C I Q. If we all do our part tho, we end the curse this year, no matter how many obstacles lay in our path.

I'm sayin that's its rare when I will sit there and listen. Or read, I should say. (I'm actually a very good listener.) Esp when I see a post that size. (main reason isn't my ADDs, its I hate PC screens. They bug my eyes out) But I read all of that and did not regret it. It was a fascinating read.

The Second Spitter wrote: metsguyinmichigan wrote: I couldn't figure out what you guys were cheering about, then I realized I was about 8 minutes behind because I tivioed the start of the game and forgot about that. Fuck! Konerko hits a grand-slam off Adam Wainwright. 5-3 AL. OMG, cruel and classic TSS.
  21. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: This is even better than Steinbrenner firing his cardiologist. badaaaaaaaBOOM! How could that guy be talkin possible NL teams in the big show and not mention our Mets? Hey......now that I think about it, thats a great omen. WOOT!
  22. metsguyinmichigan wrote: McCann's gotta be the MVP, right? I gave it to him as the ball hit off the wall. Well, maybe not then. Maybe when the 3rd run slid across the plate. I could not keep up with this, had company, but I'm reading now and this is a most enjoyable 2010 AS IGT.
  23. My nephew was watching, 14, and I didn't realize it til just now. He had never seen the NL win a AS game in his life. Yikes. Kinda puts things in some kind of perspective, that I can't quite grasp atm.
  24. wow, what a crucial play there in the 9th. What a throw. YES, WE WIN!
