Even if I got this out of context, which is certainly possible, I was half listening, there simply was no reason to single out Thole the way he did. It's the way he said "especially" which grabbed my attention. It was a stupid and a rather confusing statement. I don't think he meant it to sound like that which makes it even more stupid.

I don't think he meant it in a negative way, but he said the Mets needed a run producer, "especially" when you have a guy like Thole (or something like that, I'll have to listen to that again). He may have been trying to actually compliment Thole (meaning that he gets on base or something) but there was no reason to use his name there. He could have said especially with most of the bats I have in my line up or especially with the way I prefer that everyone bunts to get on or something, anything. I'll have to listen again. Maybe I heard this wrong. But to me it sounded as if it came out in a way that Jerry was simply saying the Thole was not a run producer. And it did not sound like a positive note in terms of Josh.

  4. GO Texas! in honor of Frenchy and Nolan Ryan I'd much rather see the Yanks vs the Phils in the WS. Not Tampa Bay, or even the Rangers for that matter. Ive already seen a Phils/Rays series and if it came to a Texas/Philly WS there's the fact that the Rangers have never won one, so I can appriciate that if an N.L. team can't take the trophy. Perfect personal sceanario? Phils vs the Yanks and they are all great and exciting games, Philly taking it in a fantastic extra inning seventh game.
  5. Thank you Mets, for ending my misery. Perez walks in the winning run during extra innings. How perfectly fitting.
  6. Tomorrow is gonna be great baseball. I'm rooting, of course, for the three-way tie and the 2 playoffs scenario. Post season: Rootin Phils 1st, as long as they run. Pads if they advance past em. If San Diego goes down pretty much any team cept the Braves and Skanks. Twins, Reds or Giants, I dunno, I'll make it up as I go. If its Atlanta vs. NY in the WS?, hmmmmmm....NY or NL? I think I'm gonna want to see the Braves take the Yankees down. The Yanks can suck Cox.
  7. I have never seen Wright flip his bat like that and I thought, after the one up and in, YEA FUCKIN-A DAVID! YOU SHOW HIM MAAAAAAN! Looks like he may have said something in the pitchers direction too. I was very glad to see him react like that. Show some spunk Wright! uDaMaN!

  9. I love Thole. It seems he gets the barrel of the bat on the ball almost every time he hits it. Or just any part of his bat, which after this season I'll certainly settle for. He connects. I've been high on this guy for awhile now and last nights walk off didn't hurt. If he's an adequate catcher and he hits the way I think he will he'll do us fine behind the plate. And he's coming cheap. Over a whole MLB season I can only hope he holds up and shows consistency at the plate. And I think he deserves the chance show if he can do that or not. I'd rather the Mets put some brains behind how they spend their money for a change and go get what we really and obviously need.
  10. If a Met pulled that same exact slide we'd be patting him on the back and saying nice aggressive play guy. By the rules of the game that was an acceptable take out slide. Man, has this game changed over the years.
  11. L8r Phillies. Go clinch somewhere else against someone else. Ty Mets for at least not allowing the Phils to take it on your watch.
  12. Tak's on for the save. Four run lead. Lookin good.
  13. YES! Nice pop to left by Beltran. No Met fans there in Philly this weekend, huh? Crowd was as quiet as a crowd could be.
  14. Good job by Dessens. Get meh some moar runs! Rollins will stay in at short.
  15. Nice play by Tejada. J-Roll in to pinch hit. I don't like this.
  16. Can you tell I've been drinking coffee all afternoon? Way to just watch Pagan. They will walk Ike and Duda will hit for Arias. Your big Duda!
  17. I really didn't think he was gonna catch up to that one. Wright with a one out double. Lets plate him Angel.
  18. WHOA! What a catch by Beltran!
  19. I'll be impressed if Acosta can get out of this w/o Ibanez scoring.
  20. Wicked slider from Green gets Werth. Wicked. Okay, lets not be rolling over now. More runs required.
  21. Man, this Phils lineup has so many hitters that I'm afraid of. Werth is one of em these days. Go get him Green!
