This situation with Santana is one of those things that could have been and should have been avoided. If Sandy's comments about Johan not being in shape were supposed to be motivating (I hope this was the case as opposed to intentionally alienating in preperation for a mid season trade) they certainly did that. To the point of anger and an emotionally juvinile response(Santana throwing off a mound earlier than scheduled) from Johan. I don't like this type of monkey business. Sandys a smart man. He should know there are times when its better off not to say anything. This was one of those times. This should have been a private matter between the team and the player.

No, he was squared up: Amazing pic. Almost looks photoshopped. I'm sure he squared early the way he does and Verlander changed his plan mid pitch to thwart Valdesacs plan. And nothing went according to anyones plan.

I was wondering yesterday how did he get in a position to be hit in the nutz. So he was squaring to bunt? And he REALLY wasn't wearing a cup? Thats nutz. I can do that Sharon. Ill post or PM it asap.

From seeing his at bats after he cooled down last year, and in spring training this season, there are adjustments he [u:12acxtgg]has[/u:12acxtgg] to make. They not only have a book on Nieuwy, they got the good book. I'm not prepared to make any projections concerning him because if he can't find a way to shore up the holes in his swing, he doesn't belong in the majors. Of course, that doesn't mean that he can't be a regular in our outfield.

Harvey looked great! All our pitchers looked good today. That was a nice catch by Hoffmann. Den Dekker needed to show something at the plate and he did. That HR was a nice blast. Nice to know that kind of power is a possibility with him.

Did they really cut off the front grill of the Mustang on that card? Oy. And Gibson's wearing a circa early 70s Cards uni. Still, that set is phat and I'm gonna check them out. Just got my first Topps pack of the year. My brother and I each got a 2 section rack pack. Only Met I got was Parnell. The '72 mini was Brice Harper (figures). Did get a few stars like Braun but any Met card is more valuable to me. My brother got this David Wright card that supposed to be rare. Its the same as his regular card except a different image. Hes catching a foul pop on this one. Next time I'll have him pick my pack. Everyone else in this special series are pictured making great catches in foul territory. I'm just getting used to being able to see so many spring games. I've been doing this MLB.tv thing a few years now and I love being able to view the spring games. I am interested in what's going on with the team, but right now I just love seeing the Mets playing baseball live on my screen again. What do I look for? I look for baseball.
