  1. Doodoo in a groove.
  2. Fman99 wrote: Those are some nice kaboom pic Zvon, by the way. I'm trying to soak up and enjoy as many Mets games as I can., There are only a few remaining this year. Thnx. It's always a depressing time of year for me when baseball comes to an end. And leading up to it with no post season play in sight almost saps the life that the new brisk fall weather wants to pump into me. Fortunately, the brisk chill always wins. Still, it sucks a extra large sized cargo boat full of male members.
  3. Wow, Young covered a lot of ground. He's good in the gaps. Great catch. Lil snow cone there? lil bit?
  4. Young has now stolen more bases since the all star break than Charlie Samuel stole during his entire 30 year career with the Mets. It must be get on Charlie week.
  5. Still not sold on Flores, who singles in the first run in the 1st. Nice rip down the 3rd base line.
  6. He was out at third! Ugh! A bloop hit plates a run for the Fish. 0-1
  7. And we load em, with two out, but it's for Torres, and he hits it back to Alvarez. Ha
  8. Edgy MD wrote: Catching is sort of a basic too. Sliding and demonstrating good judgement. Also key. I added catching before you posted, sorry. Sliding and good judgment are key but not so much if you can't do the other four imo.
  9. Ha! Alvarez sucks the big one as he gets a DP grounder hit back to him, but he thinks there are two outs and only gets the out at first. HA!
  10. Torres got the start today against Alvarez. Duda with the first hit of the game in the 2nd. Has Doodoo found his groove thang? Stay tuned.
  11. Edgy MD wrote: Flores is slow and has injuredy ankles. I don't want to draw moral conclusions if he looks like he's carrying a refrigerator out there. He sorta is. I don't mean to pass judgement. But there are four basics in baseball. Hit, throw, catch, run. I prefer my players to be able to do all four. The kids got good hands but he'll never be our regular third baseman or second baseman (please lord, don't ever let that happen). He's one I'd shop around for a needed piece.
  12. I'm not worried about Travis at all. He will hit, gap to gap. The other two I dunno. I like that den Dekker has that pop in his bat but if he don't square up more often what's the use? Off the bench, maybe, but you do not want to waste his glove talents. Good late inning replacement? I'm down on Flores because I don't think he plays hard. I watch Murphy bustin it all season in contrast Flores looks like he's running in place. Slowly.
  13. Edgy MD wrote: Or maybe from September 11 to September 21. That's a bit much. I think just on the 11th. So that way if I get a baseball card and the players wearing the hat, I know exactly what day that pic was taken on. I know, my reasons don't usually mesh with other adults, but there it is. Also, more than one day will water it down. It really should be special.
  14. Trees still don't line up. Bob Botz lies!
  15. As Billy Bones was known to say in 'Treasure Island': "Ahh, Hawkins me boy" Jesus H. Christ. That's what I'm reading right now. At my current pace, I should be done by Sunday night, early Monday morning. When I read that book for school I would listen to Scheherazade, the classical instrumental piece. It was like the perfect soundtrack.

Or is it more a case where the Citi money came with the condition of having nothing else on the building except their brand? Tell me again where on Shea it said Mets? One of the standard shots of Citi Field from the front features the Home Run Apple with the Mets logo. If you're in the back, or on Northern BLVD, you can see the "Home of the Mets" scoreboard. The outdoor areas are really nice, blue and orange flowers, the apple, the player banners on the poles along the main walkways. Oh, and the banners of the players in the LF corner. Also visible from the outside. Well, in a very real sense the blue and orange panels did say Mets, as the neon players on blue did afterwards. Citi says Ebbets/Dodgers, can't deny this. All you say there are nice bright points. It's a brand new ball park. I would hope it has plenty of positive about it and it does. Unfortunately some unsound decisions make the negatives so glaring.
  17. I smell dead fish. Great job Hawk!

  20. Gotta plate this run.

Or is it more a case where the Citi money came with the condition of having nothing else on the building except their brand? It's a rich man imposing his desires. He's obviously more concerned with his own sense of nostogia as opposed to what a Met fan considers nostalgic.
  22. Frayed Knot wrote: Another game, and other day of getting 2-hit (or worse) through 5 innings by a mediocre pitcher. This team hasn't even had a lead since Sunday and have rarely even been tied in games since then. Ya know, what Keith just said, why are they taking 200 swings in practice/warmups? That seems like way too much. They'd be gassed by game time.
