  1. Btw, do you know who created this card? I'd like to use that for my '65 Spahn card post.
  2. Well, don't feel bad Matt. Obviously interviews from home are exhausting. All that sitting, holding the phone up (your handlers don't do that for you?) to your ear. Next time see if you can do one without opening your mouth.

  4. Matts a grouch in the morning. Sounded like he didn't even have his coffee yet. Obviously he has stock in Qualcomm. Well, you can go to the bathroom and keep current score, but can you actually score a game on that thing?

And if its possible that they trim those every few years, that could be the tree on Butterballs. In the Clendenon photo you can see that these are interlocking fields (could be 3,4), or 2 adjacent. How many fields did they have down there? The corner of each, looking in, might be very similar. The trees are a good indicator but its also possible similar trees were planted all around those parks. Trees can be trimmed and all a that. The light pole is a major indicator. I know you said you see the light pole in Butterballs pic. Looking at the B&W now don't see it. But that one fence pole is thicker for some reason. lol, i like how I'm gettin all X-Files investigative. (In any case if the jutting out fence thing isn't there maybe they were all put in later.) When its a color photo that body of water out there helps to try and nail down the field. But there could be one or two additional fields that have the same view for all I know. This makes the the cut cuzza the lightpole (which also could have been built in similar patterns around the parks down there when you think about it). What do you think the fence addition that juts out is for? A Safe area/dugout kind place for games? A batting cage? And did other fields have that? I bet the fields still are standing down there. I might have to take me a trip to Florida.
  6. You barrel of whiskey dick teasers!

  8. Well, Doodoo, I won't hate ya. That's all I can say. But you let me down *sob*

  10. BIG SINGLE MURPHY!!! Hey, Duda, you want my love? Earn it right now.

Great b&w of Clendenon up above. That's the widest angle we've seen of that practice field. Now we know that there's no outfield beyond the first infield -- just another infield. I ran into two in the same slide show. Not positive about this one tho.
  12. WOW. Could be a big break. Hes a good shortstop. Bases behemothed, 1 out, Muffy.
  13. Don't tease me Mets! Its too late in the day. Come back all the way if your going to come back at all. Gah, Young pops out.
  14. Hm. Interesting. Rosario goes down.

  16. Johnny Stephenson?
  17. That throw there by Lagares concerns me. How could he be that far off? Funny how my expectations for him are so high.

I was a cub newspaper reporter with a camera determined to get a story, he answered a few questions but made sure to thank the good folks at Jim Beam like he was a Nascar driver. He ruined every candid I tried to snap by turning and facing me with a huge shit-eating grin. Opined that the difference between the best and worst teams in the league was "2 or 3 players." He was really charming, gave me a signed Jim Beam baseball I kept on my desk for years. A Jim Beam baseball?

Wheeler with the pitches again? 107 in 5. He has been improving everything except that. He has to put batters away on fewer pitches. Too finicky.

And that was a bad call by Tim. Well if you want to hold a runner up it's good to get right in the path so he'll be more likely to see you. The problem is, once Muffy decided to keep running, Timmy suddenly had to bail. A coach should never find himself in this position. He should have been a little more back towards the plate and a bit more away from the line. Timmy will be the first to tell ya too. Damn, Pagan is putting on a little show I could do without. Were the Sienfeld innings entertaining enough for me to rewind em?

  23. gah. Wheeler makes Doodoo look like doodoo! That was a nice stop. Had time to get him if Zack was there.
  24. That was a great observation by Darling. Wheeler kinda giving himself away. 3-0
