  1. Ugh, crap. Byrdak can't do his job. Choo lead off double in the ninth. Laggy slips but they are right, that ball scooted by him. Future Met on second, no out. And I feel confident in saying "Thaaaaaats Allllll Folks!"
  2. That Hamilton kid sure can steal. Big K FF!
  3. Buzzy got in some good blows there.

I'd settle for him finding the plate. Yeah, a 1-to-6 K/BB ratio isn't exactly what you're looking for. Yea, that is part of his line, isn't it? I would have pinch run for him after he reached on error in the third. I would be such a nutty manager.
  5. I remember seeing Agee make a diving catch playing for the Cards. It was on TV at a friends house, not sure if it was a Met game or a Game of the Week thing. So he makes this lunging skidding diving catch in right-center ( 99% sure this was on artificial turf) that looked like a carbon copy of his second 69 series catch, only it wasn't near the track. It was in from the track by quite a bit. I always thought that had to have happened in '72 but it couldn't have. Had to be 73. Playing for Houston and St Lou at that time could not have been good for his knees.
  6. Smooth play by Phillips, but he aint all dat. Harangs line doesn't look bad but yet I feel like he's been pitching like shit. Still chuggin along in the 5th, looking for a groove. I'd settle for him finding the plate.
  7. Votto should just walk from the on deck circle to first, save some time.

Nice job by Duda to make sure he got that ball in the air. Who'rang tags. Hey! YOUNG! WHATrYAdoin?! Tries to steal third.....FAIL.
  9. Beautiful ballzy bunt single by Eric. No out, 1st and 3rd. Murphy.
  10. lol. That is funny Keith. I love that logo. The best for any sport. But Mex does have a point.
  11. Walks in a run. 2-0. I figured if any game this would be the one we'd get the best from Harang. WRONG!
  12. Muffy making me look bad. Reds take a 2nd inning lead on a Choo RBI single. Harang walks the bases bloody. 2 out
  13. Haha, and just then they show he's second in errors at second. I still feel he's been pretty solid there.

  15. Mets looking good in the blue tops. Another beautiful looking stadium that looks a lot like all the other new stadiums these days. As most of them, the outfield and beyond gives it its personality. Beautiful view. Duda up with walkin Wright on 1st. 2 out in the first.
  16. Harang should have a big Red chip on his shoulder. And we get to see that lil hot rod from hell, Bill Hamilton.
  17. I always liked Garrett. He was like a Justin Turner, only better. And he was used more. He could play all infield positions well, hit, run, slide..I couldn't understand why he wasn't an everyday player. I never saw him do anything wrong and that's something. IIRC he also kicked major ass vs. the Braves in the '69 NLCS.
  18. Oh, almost forgot this. The Sadecki Spot at Butterball Field, 1967. An unobstructed view.

Thats Eddie Kranepool and when I first saw that photo I thought how kool that Kranepool would go out there and check out the scene. Thnx. batmagadanleadoff wrote: Zvon wrote: How come there aren't any other pictures of that water tower in this thread? No idea. But if my theory is correct that is Clendenon Field behind him and that tower is always directly behind the photographers of the now much documented Sadecki Spot at Butterball field.
  20. RealityChuck wrote: I remember Garrett turning into a superstar that September. Baseball Reference gives him a slash line of .323/.411/.604. The other big slugger that month was Rusty Staub. This was the first time Rusty had a chance at the postseason and I think he wanted to will the team into it. And he did. He and Tugger powered a lot of will.
  21. Young 0.5 Murphy 1 Lagares 2.5 Recker 1.5 Tovar 0.5 Torres 3 Atchison 0.5 Hawkins 0.5
  22. batmagadanleadoff wrote: Here's Dick Young ('64) sitting by the water fountain. A lot of the shrubbery that was once behind him is now gone. The area behind Young is now a paved parking lot. This is outta left field and probably wrong, but I just saw something at FAFIF about the old Odd Couple movie. I don't know why he'd be down in Florida, but could that other guy be Walter Matthau? Could this be Butterballs mound? I could put Dallas Green anywhere in the wide wide world of sports and I choose to have him at the Sadecki Spot on his 67 card. That's significant.
  23. Whew. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPbaby! Thank you Mets for this little something This last ones just a neat .gif.
