  1. Wha? Matts done? Oy, what are they doing to my game!
  2. Un effing believable. I can't listen on Sirius either, because they only carry 2 games a day now. And through this whole foray I have discovered we are paying $1000 a year! I'm peeking in from time to time on the MLB website: https://www.mlb.com/gameday/phillies-vs-mets/2018/04/03/529479#game_state=live,game_tab=,game=529479 When I hit that link, I get: This site can’t provide a secure connection WTF does that mean. I'm getting the game here: http://www.sportshd.me/mlb/529479/h So glad I paid for mlb.TV. [ /] are you on a vpn? might be why? anyway, if you guys got local phillie cable you can watch the game on the nbc sports app. I'm usually up on such things but I don't know what "a vpn" is. So I need the app? I may have to turn my back on baseball if they add any more hoops to my experience. MLBtv says every team, every game and that I'm only blacked out for Phils games, but I always used to get them thru Comcast. So if I can't get them thru Comcast, as in tonight (basketball & hockey, ha), I see no reason for the blackout. MLBtv says the Phils feed is CSP. Used to be CSN, Comcast Sports Net. Any idea what CSP is? Matts looking pretty good

  5. DocTee wrote: This "Dark Knight" shit has to stop. He was the worst pitcher in the league last year. Let's get his act together before we come up with a branding campaign. I expect a very good year from Harvey, FWIW, but this nonsense hype is undeserved. That branding campaign ship took off years ago (the graphic done in 2015-I always look to re-use stuff that a lot of work went into), and at the start it was the best. And I most certainly would like to see him rise again. If he ends up sucking mooseb___s I will change my approach, but before he even takes the mound I have nothing but faith and confidence in him. I go with the positive outlook. That's just the way I roll.
  6. A Boy Named Seo wrote: Incredibly st00pid. It's like a millennial version of unwritten rules, because 25 years ago, they prob wouldn't overshift for this kid to begin with, so the bunt never would've happened. The quotes from the Twins guys are idiotic. Yea, this^
  7. Edgy MD wrote: Let me go on record. If teams are super-shifting against the Mets, go ahead and bunt-bunt-bunt. If the Mets are super-shifting against other teams, go ahead and bunt-bunt-bunt. Play baseball. Play to win. Bunting is part of the game, it's really as simple as that. If a team takes away the normal holes in the infield, make your own.
  8. batmagadanleadoff wrote: Is that "Salty" for Parker? I was gonna ask the same thing. And what a coincidence. I just had to bump heads with some guy who defaced my Salty Parker '68mfc card on facebook. Baseball buttons. I never thought to do that with a snowman. I guess they, like we did as kids (or adults) just used whatever we have handy.
  9. Benjamin Grimm wrote: That Jeff Torborg and friends cover is in this competition, of course, and we'll get a chance to vote on it eventually. So you're doing both versions when revised? That's awesome. I didn't notice. Is it possible for a first print cover to go up against a revised cover of the same year? That would be interesting.

I don't know what that means, but I doubt '77 Orig has much more YCD punch after this round's landslide victory. That supposed to mean that Kooz should never draw such a lowly reaction for any reason. Just a bad joke but the sentiment was good. *adjusts tie*
  11. Expectations were high for a few minutes there during his '18 debut. He was great. Prediction: 2-4 weeks. MRI today, right?
  12. I'm not sure that this 1992 cover is actually a yearbook. It looks more like a magazine cover. It's also not clear that it was published by the Mets. But we needed a 64th cover to round out the field, and this is the one we have. The Mets yearbook I have for 1992 looks exactly like this: And this don't suck. Still wouldn't get my vote though. That 1987 YB logo was boss and fueled my love of logos. To me it was inspirational and fueled my love of making logos. It has all the essentials and perfect composition.
  13. RealityChuck wrote: I much prefer the blue design to a group of awkwardly stages photos. It at least looks like the actually hired a graphic designer that year. Ugh. Shutout spoiled! Up Chuck & smacks one out with 2 out in the 9th! Ohhh, the drama! But Kooz still wins the game. Kinda parallels his career. d'Kong76 wrote: Both are kinda meh, went with 1977 and The Kooooz. meh. 16. I'm not laying this loss on C.B. Bucknor but please alert me when he's the home plate ump in any of our games. I'd be better off just skipping it. #worstUMPever?
  17. I just saw that X-Files episode half and hour ago so of course I read "flukelike symptoms".

LETS GO METS! Prediction: Wilmer does something. I'm not gonna say if it's a good or bad thing. Just, some thing.
  19. Mex17 wrote: Cabrera looked like he took well to the leadoff spot. I'm sure that Callaway is still committed to batting Cespedes second. I still like the idea of Nimmo setting the table (at least until Conforto gets back). There is still a need to protect Rosario by batting him lower. Therefore. . . 1) Cabrera 2) Cespedes 3) Bruce 4) Frazier 5) Gonzalez 6) d'Arnaud/Plawecki 7) pitcher 8) Rosario 9) Nimmo It's almost like a "traditional" lineup, only shifted a few spots. I like it, but going to such an extreme, I'd flip Cabs and Nimmo.

He wouldn't have survived Lexington or Concord with that giant noggin. Despite that, I was in the Spirit of '76. lol. If I was quick I'd whip up a .gif of him outrunning cannonballs and musket shells.
  21. I was more a Kooz fan than a Seaver fan in those years so that '77 cover was very special to me. I had been rooting for Jerry to get 20 wins for six years, and I just knew he would before he faded. I hadda believe! This was emotionally big for most fans of the early to mid 70's. If they piped the blue images in this negative blue it might have looked pretty kool.
  22. Thanks for the fix Ed
