  1. Harvey gives up his first hit with 1 out in the 5th. Off a fastball. 0-0Mets

I guess growing up, since he was such a good athlete, they didn't have him doing that in Little League even when he was pitching. And maybe they should have. Harvey is looking fine, like 2013 Harvey. Does he get through five? Six? Stay tuned. 0-0 Mets, 4th. Even if he does great I doubt he stays in if this game continues to be an unmentionable.

  4. Oh my, look what they did to the greatest logo known to man and the universe! Looks like they dipped it in diarrhea.
  5. Matt hits 98 on the gun. 0-0 Mets, 2nd inning.

Weird about Imperious Pastry Jefe Sid, though, considering how he floated through his career with the air of a perpetually-high line cook. I thought Gooden looked healthy last year, although a little skinny. He looked a bit gaunt this time out. I hope all is okay w/ the Doc. Probably just getting old.

Just pitch and let your legend assemble itself. I really don't want to read about the Mets "showing balls" on the Internet one more time. I tuned in for a baseball game, not gay porn. Wow, this took a turn. Adam Hamari should be launched out of a cannon. Into a pizza oven. A red hot pizza oven. Then that oven should be buried for no more than a 24 hour period, then dug up, and re-launched, finally, to the moon.
  8. Marc Carig, Newsday -- Mets’ David Wright now dealing with neck injury This is really not good. Should David be thinking about his body in life after baseball at this point or is that just off base. Unfortunately not off base:(
  9. Going by the rules of the game, with an experienced umpire, this never would have been an issue. Okay, I'm ready to vote. Where's that thread? Oh, this is it...

Tejada got hurt because Muffy gave him a terrible throw and Tejada made a poor decision to turn his back on an oncoming runner, especially a known scumbag like Utley. This is exactly, exactly what I've been saying since like 10 minutes after the play happened. Only with a heck of a lot of resistance to follow. Preach on. I also agree with you about Synd's actions. In hindsight, especially with hindsight, it was a stupid, stupid thing to do. What the hell did he think he would accomplish by throwing the ball six feet behind Utley where the pitch was likelier to strike someone in the Mets dugout instead of Utley? Even without the ejections, all that pitch does is to let the Dodgers know that the incident is now over without them having to fear any meaningful retaliation. If I was Noah and looked into trying to come up with a way to throw at Utley, I would have arrived at the same conclusion. Actually, I may have thought "chin music" and that kind of brush back is 10 times more dangerous than what he actually did. So he figured the best chance he had of giving Utley a message (& not get tossed) was to just let him hear one go by. Don't have to be close at 99. He'll hear that whistle blow. And it would instill fear in, yes, even in my mighty personal nemesis, Chase Ugley. < spl chek knows

  12. And he looked like he was trying to throw darts instead of a baseball. Aiming, kinda not following thru, tho I've seen him do that before when pitching okay.
  13. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: At that point I'd have brought a guy like Eric Campbell in to pitch expressly to drill Utley and take the suspension! lmao, I would have oh so loved if they did this.
  14. lol, I'm all over the place. Awwww fuck.
  15. Bring in Thor. NOW!
  16. And shorty won't pull him? I guess not until we lose the lead... GET IT DONE FAMMY!!!
  17. Gimme a couple of days to calm down. Okay, hours. I'm still verklempt.
  18. ______ wowzers[/bigpurple] 2-2 Mets!
  19. Hmm. First time I've whipped out my shit list this season. What's Eric's middle name? I don't want to be misconstrued.
  20. Campy can make me look really good here.....by bunting??!!! GAHHHHHH lolugh
  21. bmfc1 wrote: The skill level of MLB umps is pathetic. Most of them could be fired and replaced by random college umps and we wouldn't know the difference. Why oh why when I was growing up didn't I consider being an ump! I could pull my eyes out and cover my ears and I'd be better than 50% of the umps out there. And what a great seat for the game!!
  22. Whew. Bastardo, may your mother live long and prosper. Preferably in army boots. No dis, they are "in" these days
  23. Of course it was the Leprechaun's first stolen base of the season. Of course it was ><
  24. Rockin' Doc wrote: Nice pitch down and in on the black to strike out Utley. That pitch was closer to Utley than Syndergaard's "slip" yesterday. Don't be getting me re-riled, maaan.
