  1. The Mets need to offset the Bobby Bonilla money which, I believe, comes back on-line next year ($1.7 mill+ per year for a gazillion years).
  2. So the McGuire guy did the damage and Broadway was there punching and brawling with women?
  3. Everts actually looks like he should be named Stoner.
  4. 27 bucks for that piece of shit?
  5. Cutie Denise from the Taco Bell commercial has some Mets Loving in her. http://www.thundertreats.com/articles/women/thunder-chat-nicole-hayden.html
  6. The Mets are already have a Bobby Livingston, Pat Misch. Let's think formidable starter.
  7. My inference was that the HoF and the gift shop would become one and the same. You know, "clever" thinking to sell more goods.
  8. Tour guide: "And this hunk of pleasure, is the 1986 World Series Trophy. It is adorned with orange spring training hats on each of the flags representing the other major league teams, for purchase at $24.99. To my left is the glove that Jesse Orosco threw into the air after the final out of the '86 series. It sits atop a fresh pile of Jason Bay #44 t-shirts, for purchase at $19.99."
  9. Pelf, according to the Post, has lost 20 pounds in the offeseason. Not 'roiding I'm guessing.
  10. He's threatening to sell in order to get a new stadium in Houston. Oh, wait a second...
  11. He should give back all the money he made off his home run heroics while sporting band-aids on his arse, salary and endorsements. That's just me, Judge Wopner Ted.
  12. Finally admits to the juice. "Now that I have become the hitting coach for the St. Louis Cardinals, I have the chance to do something that I wish I was able to do five years ago. I never knew when, but I always knew this day would come. It's time for me to talk about the past and to confirm what people have suspected. I used steroids during my playing career and I apologize. I remember trying steroids very briefly in the 1989/1990 off season and then after I was injured in 1993, I used steroids again. I used them on occasion throughout the '90s, including during the 1998 season. I wish I had never touched steroids. It was foolish and it was a mistake. I truly apologize. Looking back, I wish I had never played during the steroid era. During the mid-'90s, I went on the DL seven times and missed 228 games over five years. I experienced a lot of injuries, including a ribcage strain, a torn left heel muscle, a stress fracture of the left heel, and a torn right heel muscle. It was definitely a miserable bunch of years and I told myself that steroids could help me recover faster. I thought they would help me heal and prevent injuries, too. I'm sure people will wonder if I could have hit all those home runs had I never taken steroids. I had good years when I didn't take any and I had bad years when I didn't take any. I had good years when I took steroids and I had bad years when I took steroids. But no matter what, I shouldn't have done it and for that I'm truly sorry. Baseball is really different now -- it's been cleaned up. The commissioner and the players' association implemented testing and they cracked down, and I'm glad they did. I'm grateful to the Cardinals for bringing me back to baseball. I want to say thank you to Cardinals owner Mr. DeWitt, to my GM, John Mozeliak, and to my manager, Tony La Russa. I can't wait to put the uniform on again and to be back on the field in front of the great fans in Saint Louis. I've always appreciated their support and I intend to earn it again, this time as hitting coach. I'm going to pour myself into this job and do everything I can to help the Cardinals hitters become the best players for years to come. After all this time, I want to come clean. I was not in a position to do that five years ago in my congressional testimony, but now I feel an obligation to discuss this and to answer questions about it. I'll do that, and then I just want to help my team."
  13. I find it interesting that Mets.com has highlighted Carlos three times since he began this rehab stinit in PR last week. I'm guessing if the hip holds up, Carlos is back with an incentive-laden contract; Muffy doing filler time at 1B, LF, and pinch hitting in '10. Don't think they'd try to trade him yet.
  14. Omar is keeping tabs on Delgado in the winter league. Meanwhile, the Red Sox just shipped Casey Kotchman to Seattle for Bill Hall leaving Russell Branyan unemployed. Other current FAs incluude: Adam LaRoche Jim Thome Aubrey Huff Hank Blalock Ryan Garko Chad Tracy What's your preference for 1B?
  15. Hoe did FranFatso trump Rosenthal, Heyman, et al in this story? Weird.
  16. Eff 'em both. Omar needs to give them a deadline or both offers are toast. Grow some balls, Omar. No one else wants them and you're already willing to overpay.
  17. This link is chock full of Douchers. http://zellspinstripeblog.com/2009/12/16/the-ultimate-celebrity-yankees-fan-list/

  19. Mike Cameron signs with Boston. Where the hell have I been not to know that sooner? So, he's out of the mix, mos def.
  20. Totally not surprised. http://www.blogcdn.com/www.tmz.com/media/2009/12/1214_daddy_reveal_carson_daly_36357pcn_daly01_pcn_exc.jpg
  21. Mariners getting Bay loses traction IMHO unless Paul Allen suddenly becomes a majority partner.
  22. Intangibles such as luxury suite, autograph and memorabilia tent, private jet, private hotel suite on the road, an endless supply of bubble gum, and the always popular "I only have to show up on days that I pitch/play" will need to be ironed out later after an agreement in principle is worked out. Of course.
  23. I she in on that Ratner deal in Brooklyn? When was that project launched eight years ago?
  24. Northampton High School. Team nickname...Konkrete Kids, a tribute to the once thriving concrete industry in the area. I think their mascot is some hooligan teenager that will punch you in the teeth.
  25. Has to be the most confusing chart ever.
