  2. dominating me at scrabble, beating me at Fantasy.. If i happen across you I'm gonna have to give you the finger or a wedgie or something.
  3. Vince Vaughn/Ronny finds out best bud and co-partner in an automotive design company Kevin James'/Nick's wife is cheating on him. The Dilemma is whether or not Ronny should tell Nick or if it would distract from completing the project that could get their company on the map so to speak. Various hijinks ensue, etc. Also with Jennifer connelly, Winona Ryder, Channing Tatum and Queen Latifah. It's pretty much your typically Vaughn/James dramedy (for lack of a better word). which means it was certainly funny and entertaining, but wasn't exactly pushing the boundaries of new ground. Directed by Ron Howard. I didn't make this a poll, since the movie is not out until January. I got a random email/invite to a prescreening on Tuesday so we went out and saw it. We saw Taking Woodstock this way as well. Filled out a survey afterwards, so who knows, maybe they'll change things based on our input. The movie was mostly done, we did notice a couple of places where you could tell the audio/coloring wasn't quite up to snuff. And this is the first time i've ever seen a watermark (gettyimages) on a movie background scene. (they were on a train in Chicago)
  4. I agree, I don't think I ever really recovered from missing the draft and having to fill my roster with "I hope someone gets hurt and this guy gets more playing time" guys. I made a lot of trades but I hovered a couple places from the bottom most of the season. Next year if/when we do NL only I think we might benefit from 1-2 less teams, or maybe no util guy or something.
  5. I enjoyed the movie. Probably my favorite of the last couple of months. But it's right along lines of what I find most entertaining in movies, twisting plot that keeps you thinking, but does sorta make sense when you think it out. Some graphics, some Escher staircases..what's not to love?
  6. Phillies drafted him two years ago. So he's already got a + in my book for snubbing them.

Later I almost adopted Vaughn myself last night, but was too lazy. (He declined to sign with the Phillies btw)

There's that new overslot guy they just signed. I imagine many of the newbies haven't been swiped. Cory Vaughn maybe? Any particular style this stuff goes by? Just sorta keep tabs on the young fella?
  10. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: Really, I don't care so much about the story. As long as Homes takes his shirt off a bunch, I'm good. There was plenty of that. also, apparently they're pulling the trailer for Paranormal Activity 2 during Twilight, cause too many people were scared. (it's not scary)
  11. The movie was exactly what was expected. Followed the book pretty closely. So mostly, it sucked. They glossed over the wolves history too much in my opinion, but some of the Cullen's history stuff was pretty good. They played up the Voltari's involvement, which was good in my book, because I like the story as a "modern" vampire clan rising up against the established trend and carving out their own territory and following. If the story wasn't really a love story, there would've been a fifth book featuring a war with the Italians that would've resulted in America becoming a 'vegetarian' Vampire country with the Cullen's in charge. I was part of a general audience survey at the theater. I was harsh. btw, here's my man card.
  12. metirish wrote: This is what I dislike about rotisserie leagues, you start out bad and you are done for the season, it's a fight to stay out of last place. Agreed. It's especially rough in NL only, because try as I may, there just aren't very many 'diamonds' to find that haven't been snatched up.
  13. [bragging] I had Edwin Jackson starting tonight.
  14. 26, and probably at least a half dozen because I was forced to in high school. Pretty poor showing I'd say, although that's still a better percentage than Texiera is hitting.
  15. I heard somewhere, I think in WFAN pregame, that Mejia is learning English with the help of Family Guy. as recommended by one of his teammates.
  16. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I gave it 3. Lots of fun, not as cool as the first one, though. Some key scenes took place on the site of the old Fairgrounds in Flushing. But not the derelict ruins that actually exist. The Marvel Movie Universe version of the fairgrounds is a lively, neon-splashed place. I was looking for a glimpse of Citi Field, but no luck. It was obviously a CGI landscape, so there would be no chance of Citi "accidentally" getting on camera. The battle with Whiplash in Monaco was probably the coolest scene. And Scarlet Johansen, not surprisingly, made for a sexy Black Widow. I agree with this, but I bumped it up to 4 for the Flushing connection cause that always makes me happy. Mets Police found an image of a stadium on a viral site a couple of weeks ago (http://metspolice.com/2010/04/09/looks-like-shea-stadium-was-renovated-in-iron-mans-universe/) Looks almost like a cross between Shea and Citi to me. I spent half the fairgrounds scenes trying to spot it. In the video stark watchs of his father's message to him, little tony picks up a piece off the map to play with, and it almost looked like that may have been the stadium. I downloaded the movie last night so i could watch the Thor teaser at the end that I missed, so maybe I'll take another look.
  17. On the flip side, I bet we could pick up Daniel murphy real cheap now..
  18. Seriously, this guy's still homeless? Come in out of the cold, Hyoo-rees, and into the Familia. That was my first thought when I saw the topic. This guy has been quietly touted as impending awesome for the last couple of months, if not longer.
  19. Fman99 wrote: Whomever bitched when I took out two hitting positions per roster... you can see even after that move that there is NO help on the wire, hitters-wise. I'm glad that I'm not trying to field still two more hitters every night. Definitely. I had to pick up David Eckstein. I mean...eww.
  20. Fman99 wrote: Highly recommended... free and allows you to manage all of your Yahoo FBL teams (I have 3). I have 5..and definitely forgot to pick up a temp scrub for Reyes this week in two. oooopsies. but thanks for the suggestion, didn't think to look for one.
  21. Draft can be fun. They take too long sometimes though, can be a pain if you're in a lot. Rookie mistake on my part I guess, not realizing how slim pickings would be. Still wish it wouldn't have some NAs so high.
  22. Was out celebrating last night and didn't get to the draft. I've always had good luck with prerankings..but Iguess NL field is so slim.. ouch..eww...I've got Tatis, Sheffield, and Delgado. *shudder* Oh, and Pedro and Dukes also, of the NA guys.
  23. "And despite Manuel's comments" Why do I feel like this is too common a phrase? Why does it seem like Omar spends half of every discussion clarifying, explaining, or correcting something Jerry has said? If you can't get Manuel to shut up and be on the same page as the organization, why is he here?
  24. I'm just throwing this out there as a forecasting exercise while testing my theory about actually seeing the films being a detriment to accurate predictions I was refraining from predicting since I hadn't seen them but in that case.. give me a minute.
  25. Arguably, I don't care about any of the awards because they never reflect the decisions most people make when they go to see a movie. I don't see how Avatar doesn't win best picture though given the hype and production of it. I wonder if I'll even be able to watch though. silly ABC/etc.
