  1. Neil Walker fields a cut-off throw from the outfield on the Hosmer RBI single.
  2. no new batters, let's see how the fielding goes.

  5. .255/.365/.505 35 HR. 130 RBI. 137 wRC+ All-Star 7 MVP points.
  6. 150 games, 25 HR, .266/.360/.440 128 wRC+ for 4.5 fWAR. 3 walk off hits, one of which is a home run and one of which is a walk. 24 wefollowlucasduda posts.
  7. 2.55 ERA, 5.9 fWAR. 220.1 IP, 9.11 K/9, 1.50 BB/9 35 starts. All Star but not the starter. 34 Cy Young points. Pitches the clincher again but none of the clinching playoff games. Linked to four different women that he'll be said to be dating. more wins than page 6 mentions, but it'll be close.
  8. this might actually start soon, despite ESPN trying their best to drag it out.
  9. Ashie62 wrote: My pick of A.J. Pollock failed, badly. well, at least he'll be on the 60.
  10. I'm now also going Saturday the 9th too. two home games in a row (well, 3 really)
  11. Officially going to Opening Day at the low low price of $85.50. bleh. That's premier dynamic pricing for you. that's the cheapest section atm and Stub Hub is still at least $10 more than that. Getting push back on bringing the little one though.
  12. nah, suspensions don't count against roster limits.

Plus it's such an obvious publicity shot you figure it would have occurred to someone to have the actors switch places, but maybe Travolta's contract called for him to only be shot from his left side or that he insisted on getting his way because he was prettier than her. A vertical flip, admittedly not quite as easy without Photoshop, still achieves that. I mean, I come at this from a UI design standpoint so these are things I just think about, but still. It says a lot about Hollywood to me that the billing order is more important than the aesthetic appeal to the paying customer. Of course, in many cases these stars are literally in the movie as marketing tools themselves over spending more time crafting a story so.. anyway, the Mets. it's like 2 days away and stuff! neaat! And we'll get to relive all the World Series highlights I bet!
  14. Vic Sage wrote: I agree, it looks stupid and confusing. But the image is selected by the marketing dept and the billing order is determined by contract, so this happens alot. Still, marketing should use an image that's consistent with the billing requirements. would be ridiculously easy to flip that one it horizontally, or design it in a way that's not right above their heads. The grease one too would flip horizontally easily. The Three Kings one you slide Clooney up into the middle and have the other two lower down. done.
  15. why are the actor names above the wrong actors? Did no one proofread this?

Is it too far outside the box to consider Conforto in center and Cespedes in left? I know that either way you have one outfielder playing out of position, but maybe Conforto is better at adapting to center than Cespedes is. Spring training would have been a good time to try to find out. I think the conventional wisdom is we're not even sure Conforto is a good LFer (And that play in the World Series might've been party on him too) never mind center. Hell, we're not even sure if he can hit lefties.

John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I feel like Mama's probably gives you the most food for your $$ if you, like me, has the bad habit of tending to view eating by volume as a goal in and of itself, so I look at it as a good choice when I'm hungry. It's like 5 pounds of hero. Most of the time I can't deal with the lines at SS so don't. Can't tell you how many times I meant to have a burger and settled instead for the tacos or Blue Smoke. If I were a betting man, I'd put $$ on the chicken sammy being a hit and those deserts-on-a-stick a bust. Bacon is so cliched now I can't believe it even exists as a food. The Bacon is pretty good, and it's been there for two years already and it's just a kiosk. Plus Citi Field is hosting the bacon and beer classic again. The dessert twist might end up not being great, but the candied stuff is good. People went gaga for the blue smoke chicken sandwich and i'm sure this will be no different. I pass two shake shacks on my way to work, so having it at Citi Field is no longer a draw. But yes, this is going to be a concern more so this year with more people, and more amateurs, at games. Even with all the stands I find myself just wanting something that I can get in under 5 minutes and with busy crowds it's hard to do that in the high traffic areas. Nice thing about the playoffs is so many people were serious about the game so you could pop out fast and hit like Blue Smoke with almost no line.
  19. I want to temper expectations because things go wrong, but fuck it, they're set up pretty nicely here. 101-61 NL East dominators World Series champs in 6.
  20. d'Kong76 wrote: I forgot to ask before, how is turkey nasty? I'm slow, just noticed Foxwoods pulled a takeover. It's just so..bleh. It's like the most boring meat imaginable and at best is mildly moist and adds a little salt. I've never had turkey on anything that I didn't think would be better without it, and that includes Mamas. I think it was more Caesar's doing a bankruptcy thing. Means the ads and signage will change, but that's probably it. I doubt they change up the club much. Party City deck is changing too. I wonder if the Mets, wisely, decided to leverage the increased exposure into asking for more money.
  21. Benjamin Grimm wrote: Is Mama's of Corona still going to be there? Their turkey-and-mozzarella heroes are one of two reasons I go to Citi Field. (The other is, of course, to see the Mets play.) I'm sure it is. I don't see why. Turkey is nasty and you can get boring cold cut sandwiches at any deli in tri state area just as good.
  22. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: New fried chicken sandwich stand from Momfuku. Character race a la sausages/presidents between innings but with cars (yellow taxi, cop car, firetruck) Pepsi patrol renamed Perk Patrol and will shoot custom 7-line t shirts (various tweets) Budweiser landing, Foxwoods club, various other renamings we already knew about.
  23. I'd be shocked if the Braves don't play that song for him.
  24. take free bases when your opponent gives them to you. It's a good way to win baseball games.
