  2. Never reinstalled the Retrosheet DB unfortunately, but if someone has it should be relatively simple to run a query from the playlog to see if (first_runner=second_runner-1 and second_runner=third_runner-1) or (first_runner=second_runner+1 and second_runner=third_runner+1)

  4. A Boy Named Seo wrote: If the Mets did throw this crazy casserole dish lid on top of the stadium, how much earlier to do you think Shea would've met the wrecking ball than it did IRL? (I say earlier for sure) If we got a new stadium in 1999 instead of 2009, would it be cooler/lamer than Citi? Way earlier. Part of Shea's problem was neglect and with another huge thing to neglect, sooner. The Mets' new park, expected to open in 2006, would resemble Ebbets Field, the Brooklyn Dodgers' fabled ballpark that was torn down when the team left for Los Angeles after the 1957 season. The new stadium would be built in a parking lot adjacent to Shea Stadium, officials said. * The New York Mets acquired outfielder Gary Matthews Jr. from the Pittsburgh Pirates for cash. From a 2001 article, so probably roughly the same. Two years earlier is pre-9/11 and maybe would've been done before Bush killed the economy and such, but likely would've had the same people making the decisions. Maybe it's a little more 'techie' as part of the dotcom boom, especially if it was like 97-98 instead of 99? Or who knows, depending on the timing you might end up coupled with the Jets again on a West Side project.
  5. What, Mr. Met/Thor is not your main interest at this time?
  6. Ramos and Lindsay are 12 and 6 of the Mets MLB top 30 prospects. Neither of them off to particularly good starts.
  7. how'd the actual Fireflies do?
  8. no NBC sports app either, so I can't watch the game while showering and getting ready for bed.

Different sponsor these days, but I have a neighbor who frequents that establishment, and while bringing in groceries amid heavy rains recently, she said to me, I swear, "What a day to be doing B.J.'s!" I don't find BJs to really be cheaper than say, Target. Also, originally I deemed that place possibly the worst section in Citi, but it's really grown on me. It's out of the sun. It's got a bathroom in the corner that's less frequented. You can't see the left field wall, but that plays in to so few plates plus as a consequence you're that much closer to home plate. Quick dash down to the CF shake shack/etc foods. Hell, when I go alone sometimes I dash up there to eat my food because it's quick and close, if you can't find a standing table that can see the action. (RF corridor by catch of the day for the standing tables, or LF corner)
  10. But I've got the garbage lineup! hah. José Reyes – 3B Asdrúbal Cabrera – SS Yoenis Céspedes – LF Wilmer Flores – 1B Curtis Granderson – CF Neil Walker – 2B Jay Bruce – RF René Rivera – C Zack Wheeler – RHP
  11. Actual prospects Dash Winningham (who unfortunately had a CS) and Michael Paez also homered. Catcher Ali Sanchez went 3/4 with a walk.

Probably the other way around. When you're looking for security you've got fond home run memories of it that you can't quite place but feel good about.

  15. I mean, you should at least post the current scoreboard. trapezoidal scoreboards are just gimmicky.
  16. Edgy MD wrote: I'm concerned about the offense too, but Phillie had the league-worst offense. By a lot. Mets were 12th of 15 in runs, seventh in OPS, ninth in OPS+. What killed me was that the OBP was 12th, from an organization that allegedly cares about that sort of thing. Gary and Keith seemed to underscore that Kevin Long was of an "accentuate the positive" mindset, encouraging players to do what they do well. The problem with that was, what happens when what everybody does well is hit homers and strike out a whole lot? it seems there's more room for improvement (which they need) by shaving off some of the negative. I mean, most of the Mets have better than average OBP. If you extend back to 2015 to loop in some more of Duda when he's actually playing, d'Arnaud and Reyes are about average, and it's Conforto, Flores, and Bruce that are below. And Lagares. (And obviously Rene Rivera) So really, can David Wright give us anything? Will Conforto or Flores get/stay better? Will d'Arnaud shake off whatever last year was? The OBP will come if these things do. it's just nice that we don't have Granderson wasting the OBP leading off anymore.

Here we are googling/stalking the heck out of wifey/girlfriends and that website actually has people working FULL-TIME doing that type of stuff. Interesting. It's hive of villainy and scum...what's the quote? I haven't even seen Rogue One. https://the-cauldron.com/how-barstool-sports-uses-social-media-as-a-weapon-7d440ab5f9e5
  18. Harvey's main admiration of Jeter was the coke and 'smoke shows' anyway.

I'm not sure which grates on me more-- dudes referring to women as "pieces" or the same guys calling women "smoke shows." 'Smoke Show'? Never have I heard that phrase. No idea how that could possibly refer to a good-looking chick. Anyone care to enlighten me? just a phrase. I imagine the idea is that "hot things tend to smoke"
  20. I've always been intrigued by those but between kids and that it actually costs money to hear people that generally share their writing on the internet already, I've never pulled the trigger. How was Hannah Keyser? She started by writing the most basic clickbait drivel for deadspin (their MO after all) but her Twitter always seemed mildly intelligent.

I'm not sure which grates on me more-- dudes referring to women as "pieces" or the same guys calling women "smoke shows." Is that in the Barstool article? I won't click through to that. That place is bad. She has a Yankees cap on in another picture. But kids these days don't seem to be as violently hateful about things like that. My brother (her age) is a serious enough Mets fan but he'll wear other caps if it fits the outfit or something. From Bucks County, apparently turned down Yale for Boston, solely on soccer. Seems like they won something last year but she's not playing her senior year so what's she doing exactly? Did Thor know her before hand? Or like, was he trawling Spring Break parties?
  22. move Duda up. get Conforto in there after Colon is out.
  23. Thor and Alexandra Cooper. no word on if he calls her Sif. http://nypost.com/2017/04/05/meet-noah-syndergaards-mystery-knicks-date/?utm_campaign=ceetar&utm_source=ceetar&utm_medium=ceetar&sr_share=ceetar Seems nice enough but she's a flip-flopper maybe? (she does comment on that one with "actually a Mets fan") so we'll see.

  25. meh, traffic into Queens from Jersey isn't exactly headache free, even if you're not driving.
