  1. 91-71, 1st place. win it all. all of it. everything.
  2. with 8, we have a tie between Forever41 and MFS62 Tie breaker was last man to bat on Opening Day. MFS said TJ Rivera (did not play) 41 Forever said Walker, who bat last in the bottom of the 7th, so I think 41 wins? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YielPWgFwlR_0LnMC6wEHoNa9_O5Sj4xyRsPQHApLnA/edit#gid=571270091
  3. I couldn't easily search for bunt for base hit thrown out at home ground rule double I also didn't look closely at everyone's entries for spelling errors. Barring that, the tentative winner with 6 and the tiebreaker over jcl is Chadochoseis. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YielPWgFwlR_0LnMC6wEHoNa9_O5Sj4xyRsPQHApLnA/edit#gid=147479415
  4. 110 games. 19 HR. .270/.380/.440 2.9 fWAR. solid defense in mostly center. Gets 2 games at first for some reason. Somehow becomes 'clutch' and bats .399 with RISP.
  5. 80 games, 160PA. 15 SB. .260/.320/.400 in an odd twist, he's cut in August for David Wright.
  6. 101 games. 13 HR. 11.5 BB% 16 K%. .265/.365/.422 for about 2 FWAR. 8/22 as a pinch hitter.
  7. Nope. Don't even think you can bring a beer in with you because I think you have to go out to the street first.

  9. officially officially grabbed my tickets. after a long game of chicken with various secondary markets... i bought from mets.com cause the fees were slightly less.

After selecting Evans specifically for his versatility, it doesn't make sense to bump him for a AAAA-slugger/corner-OF type, even if he does have a first-round pedigree. I mean, he already didn't once.

It would be hilarious if they opened a brewery across 126th street, or in the Amway storefront. Ridgewood apparently, is where Evil Twin will open this summer. Meanwhile, Mikkeller NYC will indeed be open at 10am on Thursday. yay!
  12. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I just had this idea to publish an "unofficial" Mets Yearbook, loaded with dark matter and satire in the spirit of National Lampoon's high-school yearbook parody. This is an idea, man. you got like three days. bookmark this for 2019 early March and you can really make strides.
  13. Lefty Specialist wrote: I'll be in the upper deck somewhere hoping it's not too cold, as I prefer ballpark beer to ballpark hot chocolate. check this space for beer after Opening Day ;-)
  14. A Boy Named Seo wrote: Yeah I imagine if he's ready to go, they won't keep him in PSL or send him to Vegas just because. Not sure if 6 days of game action is enough to get him major league ready, but I'd rather have an mostly-ready Conforto than a fully-ready den Dekker. I mean, he's not necessarily facing Aces trying to blow him away in major league games either compared to minor league ones.
  15. If he's going to play Grapefruit games it means they can't backdate his DL stint either. I feel like this is leading towards Opening Day. Sucks to be Nimmo. wonder if anyone wants Bruce?
  16. d'Kong76 wrote: Indeed, I'm not complaining. High 30's with 25 mph winds are not good for my aging bones any more. lubricate them with some Henry Hops.
  17. d'Kong76 wrote: I'm surprised in this day and age the cover of the 2018 yearbook has not surfaced somewhere online. I can't find one. I mean, surely they are all printed and ready to go. Everything gets leaked nowadays. Not only that, you'd think they'd be around for people who buy that stuff online and not at games and team stores. Leaning heavily towards "no one cares enough to leak it" the "what's new" event was yesterday. Stadium opens Thursday. They're probably switching gears right now, so perhaps it'll show up Monday?
  18. sure it's all melted now. if not the 60 degree weather yesterday all the hot air the media invitees were blowing over the new food and beer.
  19. https://ny.eater.com/2018/3/22/17151912/mikkeller-brewery-open-photos-menu-nyc Eater with the scoop, though not much info. The brewery will be open after, but probably not before, Opening Day. Do I dare stick around for a pint and make sure I dive headfirst into rush hour traffic to get back home?
  20. Lefty Specialist wrote: Every time you think, 'that's it, Montero is toast, we'll never see him again', something happens. So this means he'll at least technically be a Met until mid-2019. Well, he's under control through 2021 and he's probably done for 2019 too, given the 18 month timeline that's become the standard. Wheeler basically didn't come back for two years after spring Tommy John. I wonder if they DFA him in 2019 and try to remove him from the 40 man? would anyone claim him?
  21. metsmarathon wrote: man, there's a lot of money still out there! that strikes me as unhealthy. are teams even trying to win...? I'm regretting not going higher on Ohtani.
  22. SteveJRogers wrote: Ceetar wrote: oh. they don't know yet. Not privy to any insider info here. Sounds like they're having issues with the city/license/whatever. Annoying! They should be ready when I come there! I come all this way... = Joking aside, I wonder what the issues would be? And if it would be easier for an established area brewery like a Queens, Third Rail, LIC Project, etc to get in as opposed to a company coming in from Denmark. Though they do have locations in California, so I don't know. wouldn't matter. new business location, new certificate of occupancy and liquor license and all that. inspections/bribes, etc. They're making beer and have relationships with brewers in the area to brew at so there will be beer in the stadium. But by now they should be promoting their opening day tap list.
  23. bath time starting now. rushing to bed time. If I don't show up by like 9:05 someone ping me in case I fell asleep.
  24. oh. they don't know yet. Not privy to any insider info here. Sounds like they're having issues with the city/license/whatever.
