Probably Dykstra but less as an individual and more of a symbol of several players I like who left the Mets ca. 1989-91 and were replaced by players that were hard to like as well as the realization that the Mets weren't going to be contenders every year anymore. Of course, nowadays I wonder why I considered Dykstra likeable. When I was 5 I wasn't even following baseball yet.

The best thing about this trade is that now all the top threads on the 'Pool are about K-Rod rather than Jeter. Gradually we may reach a point where the threads are about players currently on the Mets.
I voted the middle one although I've been the suckiest of sucks this season and hardly watched the team at all (life gets in the way you know). I vow to pay better attention during the second half.
I like Beltran. I like him as a Met. But logically he is not part of the Mets future and his value in a trade is not going to get any higher than it is now. The Mets need to plan for their future and I think that should start with trading Beltran for well-scouted, talented young players. However, keep your hands of my Reyes.

Guy behind me at Fenway tonight: "It's great that Jeter went 5 for 5 today. That means they're going to keep him the lineup and the same spot in the batting order for like the next thirty games. And he's GONNA SUCK!"
