So while it may not have produced Mets in the past, future Mets are being born there now. But the flip side is that San Antonio is in Texas ... and Texas makes LOTS of ballplayers. And Jerry Grote, among others, was one of the ones made in San Antonio. The city we're looking at is smaller than San Antonio. Since you said "ciudad," I picked the first large city with a Spanish name I could think of.
  2. San Antonio
  3. Yo La Tengo, a band whose name is inspired by a Mets anecdote, released merch for their recent Hanukah shows with Mr. & Mrs. Met in a compromising position. https://yolatengo.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Screen-Shot-2021-12-14-at-8.56.22-PM.png>
  4. A number I associate with Tim Teufel, even though he's had plenty of company.
  5. It always amazes me that the band churned out two albums plus of material for 8 years, plus constant touring for 5 of those years, plus making two movies, plus just everything that goes with being the most famous people on Earth. They definitely would've benefitted from a year-long sabbatical starting around 1968/1969 with plans to "get back" together afterwards.

  7. Hooray for a massive scoreboard!
  8. You were really trying to make us think of Rey Ordonez, weren't you?
  9. The Mets never have and never will play on my birthday. The first Mets game after my birth would be Opening Day 1974.
  10. Do we know if baseball-headed humanoids can be infected by COVID?
  11. I'm worried about the air traffic control at LaGuardia relying on the Home Run Apple for navigation.
  12. Can we disown Jim Breuer?
  13. Maybe Giant Squidlike Creature can manage?
  14. My son still talks about how I cried at the end of that game.
  15. Not only was "I Me Mine" finished after these sessions but it was the only Beatles track recorded in the 1970s. (Unless you count John Lennon's demos of "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love").
  16. I suspect they'll start using emoji in place of numbers.
  17. =kcmets post_id=82684 time=1638986082 user_id=53] Is there a point to the Brad Pitt thing or is it just dumb on it's own?
  18. What drives your antipathy toward Newsday? Are you still fuming over the Naked Came the Stranger hoax?
  19. C'mon, that was a funny deep cut reference!
  20. As long as the Mets don't have to play a road game on the moon.
  21. No link. I'm referring to the year in the title of this thread.
  22. Speaking of time travel, here's another thread from the past!
