  1. What Met will be the undertaker for General Noriega's funeral? What Met is the latest techno-gadget for brides who want to be heard by the whole congregation at their wedding? What Met acts as a fashion consultant for birds of prey?
  2. Rich Hacker. Uber-obscure. I guess Old Macdonald's Farm is not being burglarized after all so I'm still stumped by that one.
  3. Bret Sabermetric wrote: Which Met (and Yankee) substitute's name stands for all substitute players? Phil Linz.
  4. Bret Sabermetric wrote: Which Mets reliever never had quite enough money to pay the check? Bill Short (duh).

Those short stories are hit & miss, but at least the bad ones are just as short as the good ones. This book is a lot like Berendt's Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil except in Venice instead of Savannah. Chock full of eccentric people that the author seems to get to tell all the intimate details of their lives. Half the time I think he's making shit up, but it's well-written and entertaining.

  16. Nah, Dolphin Face had set up camp by the fine public schools of Denver long before Squid swam into our pool. Dolphin Face's main rival was David Whales.
  17. The IP on the second Frank Thomas does not match anyone else on this board, much less the first Frank Thomas. Obviously someone can post from different computers though.
  18. Well you know, Jeter is the face of baseball so he has to participate.
  19. Edgy DC wrote: It's hard to argue that this one hasn't been breaking the Mets way. You're just begging Bret to come in argue exaclty that aren't you?
