In a sweep (only I voted lets read two) the Crane Pool forum has spoken to read Frank Thomas's autobiography Kiss it Goodbye. Order your copy today or request it from your local library (if they don't have it demand they get it or donate your copy when you're done). Discussions begin Jan. 30th.

On the other it hand it was Ed -- Edgy who made a whole new sub-forum about this, I was just planning on discussing the book in a thread. On the old CPF the CPF Book Club forum became a place to discuss baseball books in general so I don't see why we can't just use this new forum for discussing baseball books in general. I'm in favor of things literary, things without strict rules, and things that are fun & laid back in general.

Bumping this up for one last push before the vote closes on Tuesday. Frank Thomas' autobiography will likely and deservedly be the book of choice, so you can also consider this a reminder to get a copy of the book over the weekend and start reading.

Sure I'm jealous of a man who gets to play for the Mets, but more so of a man who gets to touch Julia Stiles and Claire Danes at the same time.

I'd like a scarf like the one Mr. Met is wearing.

Everytime I see this I think Bret is saying "Beat my ass!"

Eh...I'm okay with this. The Yankees are just rewarding Damon for all the good he did for the Red Sox while he goes into decline with them. That is if he doesn't make ... THE SPEECH.

We've got some interest in reading and discussing a baseball book together. Edgy nominated in this thread the book Wrecking Crew by John Albert. Metirish nominated in this thread the book Kiss it Goodbye :The Frank Thomas Story by original Met and recent Crane Pool visitor Frank Thomas. Vote above and a simple majority will prevail (please don't vote if you don't intend to participate). Voting closes Tuesday January 3d at 10 AM. I suggest we begin our discussion of the book the week of Jan. 30th.

No I was joking that the sport the Twins manager should avoid is baseball. I can't make any good pun from Ron Gardenhire.

Croquet?

I'm no Cardinals fan. And it's obscure because he didn't play for the Mets. One more: What Met outfielder specializes in body-piercing the male genitalia?
