  1. For some reason my MLB.tv subscription does not seem to exist even though I got an email 2 weeks ago that it was renewed. I guess I should've tested it out during Spring Training.
  2. Baty is a good name for a hitter.
  3. Apology accepted. Sorry to take it that way.

Which basically coincided with the last time the Yankees had a championship drought lasting more than a decade. That's either 1981-1987 or 1982 -1988-- seven straight seasons. The Dodgers won it all in both 1981 and 1988. Yep! I can actually count, but thank you for condescension. 1978 to 1987: 10 seasons, 10 different champions 1. 1978 - Yankees 2. 1979 - Pirates 3. 1980 - Phillies 4. 1981 - Dodgers 5. 1982 - Cardinals 6. 1983 - Orioles 7. 1984 - Tigers 8. 1985 - Royals 9. 1986 - Mets 10. 1987 - Twins 1982 to 1990: 9 seasons, 9 different champions 1. 1982 - Cardinals 2. 1983 - Orioles 3. 1984 - Tigers 4. 1985 - Royals 5. 1986 - Mets 6. 1987 - Twins 7. 1988 - Dodgers 8. 1989 - A's 9. 1990 - Reds You will notice that the Dodgers appear only one time in each of these lists.
  5. Oh, and 1978 to 1987 was a TEN year streak with no repeats.

Forecast must really be bad since they usually only call off games that far in advance if they don't like the pitching match up. Considering how Cole got lit up the last time he faced the Sox, they might try to postpone the entire series.
  8. Hope it's not a superspreader event for all those unvaxed players.
  9. I guess I'm in the minority here, but McCarver always annoyed the fuck out of me. The whiny, nasal voice. Talking nonstop, often about things irrelevant to what was on the field. Making a dumb joke early in the game and then constantly referring back to the dumb joke while Ralph faked a laugh just to get him to shut up. Splooging all over the place about how great the Cardinals' players were (I mean you don't have to be a homer, but you can also keep it in your pants when talking about our archenemies). I got in the habit of turning the tv volume down and listening to the radio while watching the game.
  10. Unless there was a player named Miguel Canro, that's a different club.
  11. Joins Miguel Cairo in the "Players named Miguel Ca_ro Who Were On Both the Mets And Yankees Club."
  12. Sean Manaea to the Padres.
  13. Edgy MD wrote: I may be cherry picking, but I tend to think the Mets have gotten swindled (outscouted, anyhow) whenever they've dealt with Billuh Beane. Yeah, the Mets tend to choose the wrong door and end up with Zonk in those deals.
  14. Sorry to end your championship streak, mm! I started the league when my son was little and wanted to do fantasy baseball, but now he's old enough that he's made his own league with friends his own age. I think maybe only 3 or 4 of the managers were actively participating last season so I figured it served its purpose.
  15. I thought Cespedes was still nominally active.
  16. I wish I lived near Syracuse because a game with Fman & Seawolf sounds like a blast.

  18. I pretty much have to look at the team roster once I've narrowed down the team if it's not the Mets or other team I'm familiar with, which is probably not in the spirit of things, but otherwise I'm just guessing random names which is no fun.
  19. Nope. It's officially retired.

  22. Lost in everything else, this movie did pick up the Best Documentary award. It also received the lesser honor of being my favorite movie of 2021.
  23. Mike Francessa foresaw that Twitter would lead to the Trump administration and the January 6 Insurrection, apparently.
  24. May run support in deGrom starts be a thing in the regular season this year.
