  2. Oh sorry, I guess exhibit lettering starts over from the beginning when it's an opposing argument.
  3. Could be Exhibit B for "The Yankees do some of the same dumb things the Mets do."
  4. Good point. I was trying to make the point to the guys next to me that if a sudden storm came up they may need the tarp because it takes 10 minutes for the roof to close. I didn't even think of the roof not being able to close. FWIW, it rained all weekend and I notice no leaks.
  5. One more thing, there was a foul pop up that I believe Carlos Lee went after but didn't get to it because the tarp tripped him up. Which begs the question: Miller Park has a retractable roof (closed the entire weekend), why do they even have a tarp?

  7. Sat in the right field bleachers for this game. A lot more fun out there with some very enthusiastic Brewers fans. Actually I was impressed by the Milwaukee fans who seem very attentive to the game (I think I've been to too many games at Fenway in recent years with all the yuppies who drive up ticket prices so they can talk on their cellphones, bounce beach balls and sing "Sweet Caroline" but not really watch the game). The area is called Jenkins Jungle so there were guys with inflatable monkeys and parrots for the jungle effect. The game was sold out and the atmosphere was electric almost like a playoff game. Of course part of the attraction was Derrick Turnbow bobblehead night. I've never even heard of Turnbow before but he's very popular in Milwaukee I think mostly for his long hippie hair. The dolls actually had real hair and Turnbow said it looked better than his own hair in a pre-game interview. Of course, Turnbow lost the game so MLB teams should take note that it's bad luck to have a player appear in a game on his own bobblehead day. I had a pretty clear view of Fielder's pole ball and it was a home run. I don't think the players, umps or even the TV camera's had as clear view as the fans in the bleachers. If it had hit below the wall the fence itself would have obstructed my view but I clearly saw it hit off the pole. So I begrudgingly give the umps props for getting that call right. Now running Sanchez out of the game was total bullshit. There were actually monitors in the stands, I guess for people who did not want to watch the game in front of them but wanted to watch it on TV. Oddly the feed was from SNY not the Brewers station. In the bleachers there is open betting on the sausage race and a Brewers fan invited me to join a foursome for $1. I took the Bratwurst and in a flash of green leiderhosen Bratty broke the finish line and I took $3 off some Brewers fans. "You let the Mets fans bet?!?" shouted one of the guys friends as he begrudgingly forked over a dollar. Another fun night with a much better result. Miller Park is fun place to watch a game (although the concourse more closely resembles a mall than a stadium) and Milwaukee is actually a really nice city.
  8. I watched this game from behind home plate. I have to watch the game on MLB.TV and see if I can see me. Oddly there were a ton of other Mets fans in the seats around me. I didn't expect much from Lima, but it was pretty rotten that he actually pitched effectively for so long that I actually got hope we'd get out of it. He imploded with 2 outs and seemed to have a gazillion chances to get strike three and escape unscathed but didn't. It's like that thing Leiter was criticized about a few years back of getting two strikes and then throwing crap instead of going after the guy. Is Prince Fielder going to join the Pat Burrell Society of Met Killers? Anyhow, it was a fun night at the ballpark other than the outcome. Drank some Leinie's, ate some cheese fries, saw my first sausage race and rode back on a bus full of Mets fans to a hotel also full of Mets fans.
  9. Great work! Now I can head to the airport confident in my knowledge of the enemy.
  10. We woulda come back!
  11. Did you have trouble putting on a poncho?
  12. Poor guy. I actually kind of like him for a MFY.
  13. Why does God hate the Mets?
  14. It's an official game. Shit.
  15. It's kind of fun watching phans trying to put rain ponchos on.
  16. TransMonk wrote: ="Willets Point"]I may get to Milwaukee before the Mets. Hey Willets, if you haven't left already, are you going to the pink bat game on Sunday? I'll be there. No I can't make it Sunday because I've got to catch my flight back Sunday afternoon - so no Pedro or pink bats for me. I'll be at Friday and Saturday's games.
  17. Trax, do some damage!
  18. I may get to Milwaukee before the Mets.
  19. Yeah, but the Mets will never go to these lengths:
  20. Bump. Celebs must be jumping on the Mets bandwagon now.
  21. Willets please, I don't go by the diminutive.
  22. First game after Johnny loses I want Gwreck in there.
