  1. Enough on A-Rod, this is our celebration. The Mets are going to play for the Pennant!!!
  2. Rotblatt wrote: Any good arguments for using Glavine on short rest and trying to get him into 3 games? He'd be on short rest twice, and frankly, I'd rather have Glavine pitch twice on full rest . . . Ditto.
  3. I though Elster was in charge of closing voting and tallying?
  4. Beltran 1 Floyd 1 Green 2 LoDuca 2.5 Mota .50 Reyes 1 Traschel .50 Tucker .50 Wagner .50 Woodward .50

  6. They're singing "Meet the Mets" (1963 version) in the clubhouse. I love that. I wouldn't even expect many of the players to know the words the way we fans do.
  7. Game #1:6-5 Game #2: 4-1 Game #3: 9-5 SWEEP!!!
  8. Is it just me or is this the longest game ever? Not that I'm complaining with the results.
  9. This was fun to watch. Doubly fun watching with a Michigander (or is Michigoose the correct term?). I loved how the players sprayed champagne on the fans, I've never seen that before. I'm also proud to be the world's suckiest prognosticator and extend the reverse karma jinx on the Yankees to a 6th year.
  10. This is clever:
  11. Who was on deck for the Mets? In the replay of Mookie's grounder from behind Buckner you can see him flip his bat way in the air and jump for joy.
  12. From Dodger Blues: ]What's the only thing more embarrassing than having two runners tagged out at the plate seconds apart? Allowing someone's friggin' grandfather to beat out a double-play ball.
  13. On the other hand - and I think this was Cooby's point - one of these teams will be the Mets opponent in the NLCS if the Mets advance which is why we specifically should have more interest in this series. As I said before, I'm rooting for the Padres to win the next two games and for all three remaining games to be at least 18 innings in length. A good and tired opponent for the NLCS would be welcome.
  14. I have a very happy wife tonight.
  15. Looks like a sweep is in the works. Lets hope the Mets add another sweep tomorrow. For the Cardinals-Padres of course I want nothing less than three consecutive 18-inning games.
  16. Just to see the Yankee fans/media twisting in the wind to try to rationalize it would be worth it.
  17. Is Perez really all that bad?
  18. I'd love to see A-Rod go 4 for 4 tomorrow while the rest of his teammates are hitless. It would be especially delicious if Rodriguez got himself to 3d base with no outs and the Yankees fail to score.
  19. Reminds me of that clip from LA Story where Steve Martin pretapes the weather report because it's always sunny in Los Angeles.
  20. Tom Glavine is a New York Met. The Real Mets play in Spain.
