Nice job digging up something I don't even remember writing. Are these actual City Connect unis for the Mets?

  3. I picked 7 in this poll and 2 of 3 at home versus the Brewers is very manageable. But fuck it, I want 8!
  4. There are a boatload of Mets fans in Anaheim.
  5. If only they would interview Trout about that Diaz strikeout.
  6. The maximum number of times that fantasy football should be discussed in a baseball broadcast is 0. The maximum has already been greatly exceeded.
  7. The upside is that the more Mike Trout talks, the less we hear from ESPN announcers.
  8. I went to a Mike Trout interview and a baseball game broke out.
  9. This is the first game I've been able to tune into this weekend and I was surprised to learn that the Angels have a Sasquatch batting leadoff.
  10. I've always favored having a time limit for video reviews. Have a video ump watching live feeds at every game and be ready to review immediately upon challenge. I'd even allow the video ump to initiate a challenge if they think the field umps missed something. Either way 30 seconds to determine what happened or the call on the field stands.
  11. =roger_that post_id=95729 time=1655053031 user_id=128] And then you'd have baserunners who see the ball thrown wildly attempt to rise to their feet to take the next base but, instead, are writhing helplessly like a mouse caught in a glue trap? I'd pay good money to see that.
  12. Velcro hook bases and Velcro hoop pants?
  13. =metsmarathon post_id=95668 time=1655001208 user_id=83] Just because I disagree with you doesn't necessarily mean that you're a terrible person.
  14. The check swing is one of those things about baseball - as discussed in another thread - that only makes sense because it's existed forever.
  15. Kind of sad that one of the greatest Mets had to play his entire career here in these nightmares. https://64.media.tumblr.com/250377919781886087b3003fb843ddb9/tumblr_inline_nz7j3g4T6Z1r9qiw6_1280.jpg>
  16. Love the Topps Photoshop rendering to make early 1980s Shea into Anaheim Stadium on that Ellis Valentine 1983 Topps card. [FIMG=277]http://img.comc.com/original/b8443e4b-bc0b-4aaa-88c9-5ad9c970067e.jpg[/FIMG] Yeah, that's pretty neat photoshopping for 1983. Was Photoshop even around in 1983? PC's hadn't yet reached mass consumption, or anything remotely close, in 1983. They were still in the early adopter stage in '83. But Topps left the stadium untouched. What it did, I think, was only to transform Valentine's Mets uni into an Angels uni. It is accurate to say that Topps airbrushed the cards rather than photoshopped. It's kind of like watching an old movie with my kids and they say "That's such bad CGI!" and I have to say "No. CGI hadn't been invented yet. That's bad chroma key."
  17. Rick Reed, 26th round draft pick and 1995 replacement player, suddenly becoming a highly-effective starter for the Mets for a few seasons was a surprise.
  18. I think I have mild prosopagnosia so I'm not good at these kind of tests. I got 2 on the 2022 page and felt good about it and decided to stop there.
  19. Despite not becoming the next generation of Mets' superstars, I was impressed that Gregg Jefferies, Dave Magadan, and Kevin Elster all played into the 2000s.
  20. =roger_that post_id=95237 time=1654646886 user_id=128] Hey, for someone browsing the web while driving, you're lucky I didn't write that the Mets were angling to get Wilson Phillips.
  21. Roberto Petagine. I saw him breaking records down in Norfolk and couldn't figure out why he wasn't being called up. I suppose he was the ultimate AAAA hitter.
