1. I generally don't point out typos unless they're funny. "Racial" amused me because it has another meaning that would make a strange name for a person. "Iglesies" was just the icing on the cake. And yes, I'm terrible with apostrophes, especially when it's a word that ends with an "s" possessive.
2. Frayed Knot wrote: The appearance of Racial Iglesies the other night An impressive typo to get both of Raisel Iglesias names wrong!
3. My complete collection of Mets autographs: * Willie Mays * Tim Teufel * Lee Mazzilli * Howard Johnson * Frank Viola Bobby Valentine autographed my ticket stub in 1997, but I pretty much immediately lost it.
4. And to think that my Great Aunt Kay wouldn't have been able to listen to Irish music on the radio without Vin Scully.
5. Loving the optimism here! Feel free drop the specific number of wins you think the Mets will get in this thread. I'm going with 18.
6. 21 of the next 28 games for the Mets are against contending teams including the Yankees, Dodgers, and a metric shitton of games against our main division rivals, the Braves. After September 1st, the Mets schedule gets much softer with most games against bottom feeders except for 3 against the Brewers and 3 against the Braves. So these next 28 games are really going to be a time for the Mets to prove their, uh, mettle.
7. I like the sad fan thinking of all the things she could've done that night other than going to a Phillies game.
8. Eligible for the HOF next year, so maybe if/when he's inducted?
9. It just boggles my mind that he was calling games when my dad was a kid in Brooklyn and was still calling games after my kids were born.

This. I had a flashback to when they added players to the Nolan Ryan trade. JD for this guy should have been enough. The title of the thread should have been the Mets Got Run Ruf-shod Over. Later I didn't know there were high-rated prospects in the trade when I wrote this so I don't know if it will ever make sense.

12. I feel like we have a lot of First Basemen.
13. Going to my first Mets game since 2019 on Sunday, September 4.
14. =MFS62 post_id=101782 time=1659396156 user_id=60] We're doomed.
15. Any top player that doesn't get traded to the Yankees, Dodgers, or a division rival is a win, imo.
16. I thought I'd find out my standing in the Crane Pool when opening this thread.
17. The Yankees continue to collect former Red Sox like Hummels.
18. Nationals fans must be happy to see their young superstar win the HR Derby just before he leaves the team. Again.
19. Backpack Girl!
