  3. Another tough choice.
  4. This may be the hardest vote for me yet. I love both of these movies.

If Philadelphia wins, our games against them next year will be unbearable. I'm looking at it more as the Mets games versus the Phillies will be all the more sweeter when the Mets crush "the Champs" and clinch the division shortly after Labor Day. And if that doesn't happen, well it's probably because the Mets bullpen sucks.
  6. I don't hate the Phils, there's no reason to hate them other than jealousy. I'm a NL fan except when the Red Sox are involved and I like to root for underdogs. The Phillies are the losingest team in sports history and have only one championship in a franchise history dating back to 1883 so I'd say that trumps the underdogness of those whippersnapper Rays. So put me down for the Phillies. Really I just want a good series.

  8. We get our wish as the Sox win Game 6 without much drama.

  10. Rays fans are probably wondering why Kazmir was pulled, although in Maddon's defense, the top of the 7th inning was more than 30 minutes long.
  11. Kind of made me think I was watching a historic reenactment of a typical Mets-Phillies game, w/ Boston playing as the Phillies.
  12. Sox win. Playoff baseball is fun. I won't be surprised if TB still takes the series though.

Hey, tell that to those "Fenway Faithful" who were piling out of the exits two innings back. I was thinking of them too. They're kicking themselves now, but will probably would walk out/go to bed again should the Sox fall behind in a game 6.

  16. Chips, dips, chains, whips.
  17. Risky Business foisted Tom Cruise on the world. Yuck. I go with Werewolf although I never understood the sudden ending.
  18. ...and the Phillies win the pennant!
  19. The first WBC was supposed to be in 2005 but was delayed one year to get the final signoffs by various national baseball federations, et al. It will continue on a 4-year cycle from here on out in years that conflict neither with Olympics nor the FIFA World Cup.
  20. Centerfield wrote: ="soupcan"]Dodger fans were understandably stunned at that loss last night but Met fans weren't. This year the Phillies are never out of any game until the 27th out is made. Victorino in 2008 is to Phillie fans as Lenny Dykstra was to Met fans in 1986. This is great news. That means next year he'll decide he's a home run hitter, and his career will trend downward until he's eventually traded to the Mets for Luis Castillo. /Bullet of Cool
  21. Further playing career notes should include: "His walk-off home run versus the Giants in June 1980 most likely inspired Willets Point to a lifelong love of the Mets."
  22. C'mon Phillies, keep it going. You need to win big now. Get it out of your system. Have nothing left to prove. And then rest on your laurels in '09.
  23. "No, this is our parking spot. Grandpa Louie's been holding it since 1989!"
  24. Ollie and Fernando.
